Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 13 School Districts and 3 Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has two (2) Setting IV Behavior Programs that provide programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. The Setting IV Behavior Programs are located in Kellogg (SAIL) and Hokah (ACHIEVE, opening in September 2020). In addition, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SPECTRUM). Our SPECTRUM program is located in Caledonia. Title: Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-to-3) Teacher

Position:

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) is seeking an Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-to-3) Teacher to serve Birth-to-3 children and their families in Southeast Minnesota. This position potential will serve La Crescent, Mabel-Canton, Spring Grove, and Caledonia.

Essential Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

Serve as case manager for children with disabilities, consult with parents, school personnel and others, and provide direct instruction and/or coordinate related services to identified children and families
Provide instruction and/or consultation in related services (occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language) as necessary
Develop Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP’s)
Perform all other duties and responsibilities in certification areas as directed by the supervisor.

Competencies:

Must be able to work in team decision-making situations
Must communicate effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators regarding student programs and progress.
Must possess ability to problem-solve.
Must possess ability to lead teams and coordinate with others.

Travel Requirements:    Travel will occur between birth-3 family homes and/or daycare centers.

Qualifications:

Minnesota licensure as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
Must have a valid driver’s license
Experience as a B-3 and/or ECSE 3-5 Teacher preferred
Experience in coordinating early childhood services for children with disabilities and their families preferred
Experience with public health and social service organizations preferred
Experience working in a school or education setting is preferred but not required

Working Conditions:

Office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

CAPS Care Toddler Teacher

Caledonia Area Public Schools is looking for a full-time toddler teacher, and a full-time toddler assistant teacher for our child care center, CAPS Care. All positions must be able to pass a criminal background check and complete pediatric CPR/First Aid certification. Discount on child care for CAPS Care staff members. Teacher requirements:

·         Must be at least 18 years of age.

·         An Associate’s degree in childhood development required or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, AND

·         1,560 hours as an assistant teacher, aide or student intern or other licensing requirements, AND

·         Minimum of six quarter credits in Child Development classes or other licensing requirements.

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience in a child care setting, preferred.

·         Hourly pay range: $15.75-$20.01 depending on experience.

ECFE Early Childhood Educator

Full-time Health and Safety Manager

Job Description: The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing all procedures that are applicable to the district in connection with environmental, health and safety matters. The manager will provide support to Faribault Public Schools as a focal point on activities related to environmental, health and safety planning and preparedness – internal and externally.   This position is for 260 days per year. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManage all environmental, health and safety related issues which include all health recommendations for staff and students (including Pre-K, K-12, Adult Education, and Community Education programs)
Train staff annually and as needed on subjects relevant to mandatory policies and outside agencies.
Lead efforts for evacuation plans and set up annual trainings; fire drills and maintain escape routs, Fire Marshall and OSHA checks, severe weather drills, etc.
Perform monthly audit of equipment and resources; AED, eyewash stations, emergency lights, etc.
Collaborate with administration to cultivate pandemic response culture; serve as the district level pandemic response subject matter expert.
Collaborate with district administration on effective and safe cleaning strategies; ensuring that all facilities are safe and healthy for staff, students and families.
Instruct on the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, face shields, face masks for the activity being performed.
Coordinate and maintain PPE equipment inventory; daily checks of inventories to promptly address any shortages of cleaning supplies, including washing stations, soap and/or hand sanitizer.
Appraise and implement new environmental, health and safety regulations as they relate to district operations.
Perform internal checks for lead in water, indoor air quality and asbestos concerns.
Participate in the districts advisory committees as they pertain to position.
Collaborate for general workers compensation efficiencies.
Execute community outreach to form partnerships for funding and or grants to enhance health and safety of the district.
Coordinate actions as a result of students and/or staff as they relate to environmental, health and safety concerns.
Develop and enforce district protocol to determine when staff and/or students may come back to school.
Create and manage plans for students and staff to occupy healthy and safe buildings.
Monitor plans and make suggestion to the superintendent and or director of buildings and grounds for improvements; create, manage and review site specific pandemic compliance programming.
Post, in areas visible, hygienic practices and physical distancing recommendations; including materials from MDH, MDE, CDC.
Serve as the internal incident manager, ensuring that emergencies and injuries are properly managed.
Any other duties in connection with environmental, health and safety matters.

1.0 FTE EL Teacher – Long Term Substitute

Job Description:  1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute EL Teacher – Roosevelt.  The ESL teacher will be working with students at the elementary level. The teacher will be providing English language development instruction to students who are emerging multilingual learners. The teacher will be working with students at various levels of English proficiency and in different instructional modalities. The teacher will be running basic language development classes for lower leveled students, and doing a combination of pushing and co-teaching for higher leveled students. The teacher is expected to collaborate with the grade level content teachers to support the development of multilingual learners in their most advantageous learning environment.
