●      Follow all sanitation and health regulations

●      Assist with meal preparation and serving  Monitor the food’s safety, taste, and appearance

●      Behave in a professional manner at all times

●      Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and abide by all Diocesan policies and procedures

●      Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Performance Factors/Job Competencies

●      Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative team and fast-paced environment.

●      Must have auditory acuity to listen to other people on the telephone and in person.

●      Must have verbal skills to communicate effectively with the students, families, and staff.

●      Must be able to assist in maintaining a food inventory system and all pertinent records.

●      Must be able to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with minimal supervision for meal preparation

●      Must demonstrate adherence to the highest moral standards at all times.

 

Experience and Qualifications

●      Prior cafeteria experience is a plus but not required

●      High School Diploma or equivalent

 

 

This position is during the school year but there will be opportunities for summer work and additional work during breaks.

PreK-12th Grade School Counselor

Primary Function

The School Counselor  fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by working with the principal in the management of the school, faculty, staff, and students with major emphasis on curriculum and instruction, as well as student discipline. This position reports to and is evaluated by the principal.

 

Who We Are

Pacelli Catholic School is a small, private nonprofit PreK-12th grade campus of 320 students in Austin, MN.  We are a faith-based educational system that embraces Catholic values, service, and high academic and behavioral standards.  We are 1:1 Chromebook Tablets in PK-Grade 3 and 1:1 Chromebooks in Grades 4-12.

 

Essential Job Functions

●      Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school

●      Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church

●      Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese

●      Abides by the Confidentiality Policy set forth in the Diocese Employee Handbook

●      Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals

●      Prepares and implements the guidance program for students.

●      Identifies specific needs of students in academic as well as personal domains

●      Coordinates the testing program and assists with test interpretation for teachers, students and parents

●      Disseminates information and provides direct services with regard to college planning, discernment, admission, and careers

●      Assists students with social/emotional issues and offers referral options for outside counseling

●      Maintains student records and college counseling database

●      Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy

●      Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the administration

●      Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits

Minimum Qualifications

●       Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling or bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work with courses included or added that address theories and methods in counseling, psychology of adolescence, career information and development, multi-cultural counseling, and vocational, academic, and career testing.

 

Experience

●      3 years experience in education, school counseling field, or related area preferred but not required.

●      Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church

●      Knowledge of human development and adolescent issues

●      Knowledge of college admission counseling and processes

●      Knowledge of standardized assessment instruments and applicable interpretation

Special Education Paraprofessional
Location: Hokah, MN

POSITION:
Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented Special Education Paraprofessional for the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) SPECTRUM Program, which is located in Hokah, MN. This position is full-time during the 9-month School Year.

EMPLOYMENT DATE: School Year 2022-2023

RATE OF PAY: $15.50 – $22.75 per hour. Benefits package available.

QUALIFICATIONS:Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
Certified in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Intervention (training provided)
Experience working with students with behavioral needs
Experience and skills in instructional role, use of technology, and interpersonal communications
Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and/or parents verbally and in writing
Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervising teacher
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Experience with Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):    Assisting teachers in their teaching duties and other general responsibilities such as organizing teaching manuals, providing instructional support, rendering reinforcement activities, etc.
Performing clerical tasks such as maintaining student attendance records, filing student information and progress reports, making copies, creating bulletin boards, etc.
Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher (e.g. reinforcement of IEP goals and objectives, etc.) for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and student participation
Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom
Collaborates with supervising teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines
Monitors special education students (e.g. classroom, field trips, lunchroom, playground, during life enrichment activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
