Anticipated Early Learning Coordinator

Job Summary:

  • Under the direction of the Executive Director of Community Education, the Early Learning Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, budgeting and supervising the programs and staff assigned to the Early Learning Programs of the District.  The Early Learning Coordinator provides and delivers programs to children and parents of the District between the ages of birth and five in the early education program and child development programs that facilitate and prepare children to enter school with the necessary skills, behaviors, and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops and coordinates district-wide programs for Early Childhood and Preschool Readiness children and parents.  Evaluates and assesses program functions, activities, accomplishments and needs in relations to program goals and objectives.  Determines and implements changes in programs, curriculum, procedures, or operations to improve the effectiveness of Early Learning programs and enrollment.
  • Selects, trains, makes job assignments, monitors staff activities, and initiates staff development trainings and provides mentoring/mentee opportunities.
  • Plans for Early Learning funding from various state, district, fee/tuition, grants or entitlements.  Determines program needs and plans and recommends a budget for Early Learning Programming.  Writes grants proposals and/or additional funding sources to secure additional monies to meet the needs of program activities and functions.  Monitors and administers program budgets and expenditures and oversees the preparation of all required state, district, federal or grant reporting and record keeping requirements.
  • Promotes and markets the programs and services provided by Early Learning to include such tasks as:
    • Prepares and writes articles, brochures, flyers, ads or news releases
    • Speaks before community groups or outside organizations to promotes and inform the public concerning district programs
    • Oversee program registration activities and procedures.
    • Performs a variety of outreach activities to promote and inform the public concerning the programs offered by the District.
    • Initiates and maintains contact with area Early Learning agencies.
  • Oversees the implementation of MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIP) through program curriculum and utilizes these measures to assess program effectiveness.
  • Works closely with the Early Learning Advisory Council in planning, needs assessment, and in the development of long range plans for the programs.  Provides information to the Community Education Advisory Committee and the School Board, as requested.
  • Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required.
    • Provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff and the community concerning areas of instructional expertise/knowledge.
    • Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district and departmental meetings.
    • Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Major Field of study or degree emphasis in Education, Parent Education or Early Childhood Education preferred.  Community Education/K-12 Principal Licensure preferred.  Licensed Teacher in Minnesota recommended.
    Requires a minimum of 2 years directly related work experience in education.

VIRTUAL – Academic Tester

Director of Community Education and Engagement

Summary of Job Duties:   The Director of Community Education and Engagement serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of all community education and engagement operations; planning and directing the instructional, enrichment, and engagement programs by ensuring the curriculum, instruction, strategies and assessment of programs are coherent components in the teaching, learning, enrichment, and opportunities process; administering school facilities operations, participating in staff, student, and community activities, organizing, directing, evaluating, and supervising assigned certified and classified staff, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Essential Functions:

Serve on the district Cabinet Team; exploring innovative and collaborative opportunities, identifying potential barriers, facilitating problem-solving, and recommending potential internal systematic changes to support fresh, innovative ideas that align with the district’s strategic plan.
Provide leadership in the development of the community education and engagement learning programs; communicate to ensure programs are meeting the needs of the students, families, and community.
Provide leadership in the development of the organizational pattern, curriculum, instruction, and stop gap needs for students and families within community education and engagement programs.
Create and maintain the health, safety, and welfare of students, staff and families; administer equitable opportunities to support the mission and vision of Faribault Public Schools.
Serve as a liaison between Faribault Public Schools and the community to build and maintain equitable strategic partnerships which support opportunities for all stakeholders.
Seek out, administer, and manage grant opportunities and special funding partnerships which provide necessary resources to support students and families; offering strategic and actionable steps that lead to authentic community education and engagement connections..
Provide supervision conducting evaluations while providing necessary feedback, mentoring and coaching of school district employees within community education programs.
Participate and contribute to district level administration; serve as a communication link between community education and engagement programs and district.
Plan and direct the business operations of community education and engagement programs; manage the full budget of approximately $3 million that consists of all community education and engagement programs with additional grant revenue, management, and reporting; developing the annual budget and proposals, continuously justifying and monitoring expenses.
Stay current with best practices for all cradle to career and beyond offerings to ensure students and families are provided with opportunities to be successful.
Facilitate Community Education Advisory Council and other relevant stakeholder groups as needs and opportunities arise for Community Education and the district.
Facilitate and promote communication between school and home to promote parent involvement in the educational programs.
Attend all regular board meetings to represent the community education and engagement initiatives for the district.
This position with the Faribault Public Schools commences on July 1, 2022.

ESY-Special Education Paraprofessional for SAIL Program (Kellogg, MN)

Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking four (4) talented Special Education Paraprofessional for our ESY program at SAIL. This program with meet for a total of 16 days; June 13-16, June 20-23, July 11-14 and July 18-21. Each work day will be from 8:15 AM-2:45 PM.

EMPLOYMENT DATE: School Year 2022-2023

RATE OF PAY: $14.50 – $19.50 per hour. Benefits package available.

QUALIFICATIONS:Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
Certified in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Intervention (training provided)
Experience working with students with behavioral needs
Experience and skills in instructional role, use of technology, and interpersonal communications
Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and/or parents verbally and in writing
Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervising teacher
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Experience with Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):    Assisting teachers in their teaching duties and other general responsibilities such as organizing teaching manuals, providing instructional support, rendering reinforcement activities, etc.
Performing clerical tasks such as maintaining student attendance records, filing student information and progress reports, making copies, creating bulletin boards, etc.
Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher (e.g. reinforcement of IEP goals and objectives, etc.) for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and student participation
Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom
Collaborates with supervising teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines
Monitors special education students (e.g. classroom, field trips, lunchroom, playground, during life enrichment activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
