High School Principal (7-12)

Essential Functions

·         Provides leadership to staff, students, and community in alignment with the District mission, vision, and strategic plan

·         Fosters a positive school culture that promotes an environment of responsibility and respect

·         Sets high standards and expectations for all students and staff for superior academic, arts, and activities

·         Coordinates and leads the development of a comprehensive high school curriculum, including oversight of graduation requirements, standards, and ceremonies

·         Ensures that programs implement leading-edge technology and purposeful educational practices and programs that address the range of skills and developmental needs of each student

·         Responsible for the recruitment, selection and hiring, and support of all high school staff; clearly articulates roles and responsibilities and high expectations for job performance; supervises all assigned personnel, observing students and staff regularly to ensure performance measures are met, encouraging accountability, growth, and excellence

·         Regularly evaluates all staff and provides effective staff development that addresses the needs of staff; provides coaching and assistance to staff in need of performance improvement – Helps staff establish rigorous, measurable goals

·         Develops and implements an effective communications plan that creates an intentional collaboration among stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and community) serves as the primary spokesperson concerning building-level issues, keeping parents informed of school-related activities and student performance

·         Collaborates and works closely with district administration in matters impacting the district as a whole; participates in district-wide decision making, committees, and meetings to provide input, analysis, recommendation, and assist in the implementation of district-wide initiatives concerning staff development, curriculum, and programs

·         Approaches discipline consistently and fairly and thoroughly documents disciplinary actions

·         Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents and follow through in a timely manner

·         Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints

·         Fosters a shared commitment to high academic achievement and character development for all students and staff

·         Performs other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent and School Board.

Executive Director

Reports to: CRSS Board of Directors

Supervises: All professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and support personnel attached to Cannon River Stem School.

Evaluation: The Director’s Performance Evaluation system is based the Director’s Job Description and a mutually agreed upon set of Performance Goals, that identifies indicators, markers, results, findings, outcomes, improvements, or other metrics that indicate the Director’s degree of success in meeting his/her Professional Performance Goals. The indicators will be identified at the same time the Professional Performance Goals are adopted and they will be used in both a mid-year formative Professional Performance evaluation and for an end of year summative Professional Performance evaluation.

Purpose: Cannon River STEM School’s vision is to become an innovative leader in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Minnesota while creating a community of students who love to learn. The Executive Director believes in and guides the implementation of this vision.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Provide leadership for the school’s shared vision and values.
  • Provide leadership for the school’s short- and long-term planning, including strategic planning.
  • Implement school policy and provide necessary planning for enrollment, development, and outreach to support the school’s financial health.
  • Oversee quality and continuous improvement of the School’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Act as the school’s spokesperson with internal and external communities.
  • Forge and sustain relationships with the school’s external partners, including neighboring schools, donors, and local community organizations; understand their needs; and communicate them to the school staff and the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as the parent contact for school-wide matters or concerns.
  • Manage successful parent and community relationships.
  • Resolve conflicts with parents and support organizational learning to prevent similar conflicts in the future.
  • Effectively manage professional development of teachers, paraprofessional, and administrative and operational staff.
  • Effectively identify and manage all legal and compliance issues.
  • Provide timely reporting to the Board of Directors on whole-school initiatives and issues.
  • Participate actively in and support the finance committee.
  • Develop, manage and oversee the school’s budget and manage all school finances.
  • Attend all Board-related meetings, functions, and events.
  • Understand the community in which Cannon River STEM School operates.
  • Ensure that Cannon River STEM School meets or exceeds state and authorizer educational standards.
  • Maintain ongoing continuing education requirements for appropriate licensure.
  • Oversee and Manage all personnel and human resources activities of the school.
  • Draft and provide all necessary reports and other information to the School’s Authorizer.
  • Be familiar with the requirements of Minnesota Statutes Section 124E and assist the Board in maintaining full compliance with the Statutes at all times.
  • Be familiar with the contract between the School and it’s Authorizer and assist the Board in being in full compliance with the contract at all times.
  • Carry out Executive Director Duties, as assigned.

High School Science Teacher

Caledonia Public School District has an opening for a full-time high school science teacher for 2022-2023 school year.  The position consists of 3 sections of Science 9 & 2 high school electives. Special Education Evaluator

Qualifications:

  • Valid MN Special Education License
  • Previous experience working with a variety of special needs desired
  • Knowledge and understanding of child find and special education due process
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Skill in administering and writing assessment reports within the timelines

Responsibilities:

  • The Special Education Evaluator works collaboratively with special education teams to conduct educational evaluations in order to inform the design of specialized instruction to students with disabilities.
  • Administer academic assessments to identify strengths and needs in the areas of academic skills and additional areas identified by the student’s educational team.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, school staff, and parents regarding students’ special education needs.
  • Adhere to due process timelines and complete special education paperwork in compliance with MDE standards.
  • Other job related duties as assigned

 

EARLY CHILDHOOD PRESCHOOL PARAPROFESSIONALS

Caledonia Area Public School District is looking for two full-time early childhood preschool paras.  We are looking for patient individuals who enjoy working with children and who work well with others. Required hours are Monday-Friday, 7:45am-2:45pm.
