Special Education Evaluator

Qualifications:

Valid MN Special Education License
Previous experience working with a variety of special needs desired
Knowledge and understanding of child find and special education due process
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Skill in administering and writing assessment reports within the timelines

Responsibilities:
The Special Education Evaluator works collaboratively with special education teams to conduct educational evaluations in order to inform the design of specialized instruction to students with disabilities.
Administer academic assessments to identify strengths and needs in the areas of academic skills and additional areas identified by the student’s educational team.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, school staff, and parents regarding students’ special education needs.
Adhere to due process timelines and complete special education paperwork in compliance with MDE standards.
Other job related duties as assigned

SALARY/CONTRACT:  The current superintendent’s base salary for the 2021-2022 school year is $137,025. The final salary will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.

Interim Science Teacher and Teacher Substitute

Interim Science Teacher

Caledonia Area School District has an opening for a part time (.5148 FTE) interim Science teacher for the second semester starting January 4th, 2022, through May 26, 2022.  This position consists of three sections of Science 9 in the mornings.  There is also the opportunity to be an afternoon substitute teacher for the district in grades K-12.  The licensed substitute position will be hired through Teachers On Call for this portion of the day and you will be working between the elementary and middle/high school buildings.  Applicants must be Minnesota licensed in 9-12 science.  Please submit your cover letter, employment application, resume, letter of recommendations, transcripts, copy of licensure and references: Mr. Nathan Boler, Caledonia Middle/High School Principal, 825 North Warrior Avenue, Caledonia, MN 55921.  Application deadline December 2nd.  Interviews are tentatively scheduled for December 6th.

Success Coach (Spanish)

Position Information:

  • Responsible for working with students, families, and school staff to provide educational support services across the district to help ensure student success and eventual graduation.
  • Work with school staff to identify areas of concern and work with parents and students to address those areas. This may involve home visits at times that are convenient for the family.
  • Work with parents and students regarding school engagement issues, motivation, or other barriers to success.
  • May work with outside agencies to provide information about needed support for parents and students both here and as needed in the collaborative.
  • The work week will be approximately 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with exact schedule and tasks determined by district student needs.
  • Hourly wages depending on education credentials from $16/hr to $20/hr.
  • Benefits include FICA and PERA contributions.

Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in the Spanish Language
  • Must be proficient in English language.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; 60 semester credits/AA/AS degree or college graduation preferred.
  • No license is required.
  • Experience interpreting or translating school information is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
