Early Learning Outreach Professional

General Definition of Work: Faribault Public Schools is seeking a qualified individual to build relationships within the community to bridge access to early learning programming and connect families with children ages zero to five to screening and essential services. The outreach professional will create and execute a robust outreach plan to support cradle to career data collection, early childhood screening efforts, and Help Me Grow outreach. Building internal relationships and community partnerships is a critical component to this role as our district seeks to support families, students, and staff in equitable, student-centered learning.

Essential Functions:Create and execute a robust outreach plan to support cradle to career data collection, early childhood screening efforts, and Help Me Grow outreach.
Build a kindergarten enrollment and transition plan for all incoming kindergarten students.
Work closely with the EC coordinator, contracted data professional, and elementary principals to support students in ready for K plans and read well by grade 3 initiatives, as well as enrollment and transition planning.
Be proactive in sharing our district’s equity commitment and examples of relevant equity work to support all learners.
Collaborate with family literacy specialists to support early childhood and elementary family engagement throughout the district.
Participate in home visits and work with school social workers, early childhood navigators, and other community programs to gain perspective and outreach into our families and their needs.
Support early childhood staff, students, and families to collect data, connect, and promote district strategies.
Other duties as assigned.

General Definition of Work
The Student Success Coordinator will coordinate PreK-12 services that ensure high-quality, equitable education for all students, specifically students who are traditionally underrepresented and underserved in traditional educational settings.  The Coordinator will also support the design and delivery of a K-12 academic multi-tiered system of support, including coordination of tiered intervention and enrichment opportunities to ensure student growth and success.

Essential Functions

-Provide coordination, guidance, professional development, and support for district programming including intervention, talent development, and multilingual services.
-Provide coaching and support to address barriers to learning through data analysis and utilize evidence based practices to ensure success for all students.
-Provide training and support to administrators, teachers, and leadership teams to facilitate implementation of tiered intervention and enrichment opportunities at the district and school level.
-Facilitate professional learning and support co- teaching at the district and school level.
-Coordinate and support intervention programs and services to ensure services meet the needs of all district students who may benefit from intervention services.
-Coordinate and support multilingual programs and services including student assessment and placement and instructional program development to ensure services meet the needs of all district students who may benefit from multilingual services.
-Coordinate and support development of advanced academic programming that supports student success for underrepresented and underserved students.
-Review demographic data trends to determine if programming and support are effective and collaborate with colleagues to address barriers to learning including cultural and socioeconomic barriers.
-Facility district equity team and serve on other district teams as needed.
-Increases connection, engagement, and support of our families and community and ensures multilingual interpretation and translation is available for staff, students, and parents when needed.
-Coordinate and support Family and Community Engagement Specialist model to bridge school and family/community engagement, in order to engage more families within our school community.
-Prepare and submit appropriate program and state reports consistent with district/state and grant requirements.
-Serve as the representative for the Office of Indian Education and support the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program.

Activities Director

Job Description:  Faribault Public Schools is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time Activities Director to begin immediately upon hire.  The successful candidate for this leadership-level position is responsible for developing and engaging Faribault Public Students in activities and athletic opportunities.  This Director will be part of the high school and district-wide leadership team which supports and encourages community involvement with district goals and building school/community pride.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,500 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

The historic community of Faribault offers adventure, fun, unique dining, history, shopping and entertainment. Once you arrive you will experience historic landmarks, cultural and artistic gathering places in downtown, 10 lakes within 10 miles with many resorts and campgrounds, 39 beautiful parks within the city, an outdoor aquatic center, miles of bike, walking and snowmobile trails, great lodging and restaurants; enjoy year round recreations such as biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, fat tire biking and so much more.

Essential Functions:  Plans, supervises, directs and initiates recommendations concerning extracurricular goals. Directs, organizes and participates in district athletic and activity review process, coaching and advising improvement and delivery, programs, materials and equipment selection and overall program assessments.  Develops and monitors budget and programming that can be efficiently within budget while seeking additional funds through grants, fundraising, raising public awareness and collaboration opportunities as necessary. Reviews and interprets participation eligibility for students using MN State High School League, district and conference policies and procedures; making recommendations to the High School Principal, Superintendent of Schools and School Board. This director will be responsible for communicating with parents, community groups, schools, local media and the city, maintaining a positive relationship with stakeholders as a representative of the district. The Activities Director is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of facilities, reviewing activity participation and creating/reporting on student interest surveys.

Chemical Health Specialist – High School

Position Overview:  Provide coordinated chemical health, early intervention, and support and services to students, families, and the school community. Develop, promote, and sustain chemical health prevention and education services to students, families, and the school community, in collaboration with local communities. These services are designated to reduce the incidence and impact of the use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. This position is full time, 8 hours per day, for 185 days per school year.

Essential Functions:   Provide chemical health counseling, referrals, and follow-up for students and their families
Conduct chemical use pre-assessments for students with chemical health concerns
Assist students and their families to facilitate entry into treatment, maintain contact with treatment personnel, coordinate transportation when necessary, and coordinate the development of a re-entry plan upon student’s return to school
Provide various support groups based on student need (e.g. sober support, concerned persons, harm reduction, etc.)
Consult and collaborate with the Student Support Services and administrative teams regarding students with chemical concern
Coordinate program activities with community agencies to provide services to students and their families
Reinforce policies and administrative regulations associated with chemical use and possession in coordination with administrative team
Facilitate lectures around on drug education and positive decision making to assigned classes.
Participate in student support team meetings at assigned schools and provide effective consultation with school partners
Demonstrate leadership in collaborating with a wide range of youth serving organizations, school districts, and local community organizations
Provide education and training to school staff, students, parents, and community.
Develop and provide prevention-related information to school staff, parents, and students in the form of newsletters, resource guides, and the schools’ drug and alcohol prevention website pages.
Participate in gathering and reporting of various outcome data
Maintain records and enter timely, accurate data

1.0 FTE Social Studies Teacher – ALC

JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a licensed teaching position that works directly with students who are eligible for receiving their education in an alternative setting. This teacher is responsible for all planning, assessment and instruction, and differentiation of the curriculum as needed while providing positive and consistent curriculum classroom management and behavioral intervention and support. Ability to work in a team oriented environment is a must, as is the ability to be flexible while maintaining priorities. Additional collaborative work may regularly take place with parents, coworkers and administrators to ensure the high academic performance and achievement of these students. This position will commence with the 2021-2022 school year on August 23, 2021.
