One full-time (1.0 FTE) Long-Term Substitute K-5 Vocal Music Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School.
The approximate dates of the position will be March 8, 2021 through June 9, 2021.
Academic Specialist
Summary of Job Duties: The Academic Specialist will work with students in academics at Faribault High School. The primary purpose of the Academic Specialist is to improve the academic achievement of all students through interventions. Classes will be spent in the study hall and media center classrooms working with students and teachers. This position begins immediately upon hire thru the end of the 2020-21 School Year.
Essential Functions:Serve as a member of the High School Staff
Re-teach academic content in the areas of English, Science, Math and Social Studies in small groups
Work with students during school.
Collaborate with Teachers
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staff
Monitor and communicate weekly assignments, activities and assessments with teachers and families.
Monitor student attendance and communicate with parents as necessary
Stay current with best practices research and strategies
Other duties as assigned
Special Education Resource Teacher
Job Summary:
1. Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196.
2. Develop and demonstrate culturally responsive practices that lead to equitable outcomes for all
students, particularly those groups of students that are over-represented in special education.
3. Demonstrate proactive response to support students with emotional regulation difficulties.
4. Provide instruction in strategies to support students in developing social emotional skills for
success.
5. Demonstrate current knowledge of various forms of assistive technology to support students in
accessing the appropriate tools for efficiency.
6. Employ high expectations for students using a variety of instructional techniques and instructional
media.
7. Collaborate with others to plan, teach and support students with disabilities in the least restrictive
environment.
8. Advocate for students with disabilities to ensure high levels of achievement.
9. Promote and develop strong communication and collaboration with staff, parents and other
professionals.
10. Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
Special Education Paraprofessional
Qualifications:
High School diploma AND two years of college OR Associate’s degree OR MN passing score on ParaPro assessment.
Effective behavior management and health support skills, able to maintain routine in a student’s day.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for interactions with staff, students, and parents.
Experience working in a center-based and inclusion setting.
Must be able to perform the essential job functions, which may include toileting, catheters, lifting, medication administration, gastric tube feedings, health tasks to support student, pool, DAPE, ability to work outside.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
