Summary: Faribault Public Schools are partnering with the Healthy Community Initiative on the new RISE program to provide additional academic and mentoring support to Faribault students. The Faribault RISE Coordinators are responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of systems and programs that support RISE students with their academic success, school engagement, and future planning.
Program Overview
Launching in fall 2020, RISE (Realizing Individual Student Excellence) is an intensive program for Faribault Middle and High School students needing academic support – as well as additional/intentional mentoring – to overcome barriers in their lives. RISE is a strengths-based effort focused on students of color, students experiencing poverty, and/or students who will be first generation college attendees. The core of the program is to build a trusting relationship between students and caring, trained mentors who advocate on behalf of students and help overcome challenges they face in their lives.
