SPECIAL EDUCATION DCD-MM / SLD TEACHER – Jefferson Elementary

Job Description:  Full time (1.0 FTE) DCD-MM / SLD Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School.  This position commences with the 2021-22 school year on August 23, 2021.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

K-12 Online Learning Coordinator

Summary of Job Duties:  The K-12 Online Learning Coordinator is the leader in the development and implementation of the K-12 Falcons Online Academy.  The Coordinator will support teaching, learning, student development, and organizational operations. The Coordinator will develop and oversee district-wide programming, including policies, procedures, budgets, services and facilities while working collaboratively with administration to promote high-quality, equitable educational opportunities within Falcons Online Academy.

Essential Functions:Creates, executes, and monitors implementation of Falcon Online Academy for K-12 online learning within Faribault Public Schools.
Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of all online instructional programs, including credit recovery.
Researches and implements evidence-based approaches to online learning and ensures that practices implemented in FPS are appropriately matched to the needs of students.
Maintain an aligned and viable online curriculum connected to in person learning opportunities.
Coordinate curriculum-writing teams when necessary and distribute any updates to all Online Instructors.
Develops partnerships and maintains relationships with service industry experts to ensure quality of products and services utilized in FPS.
Works with online instructors to ensure quality of instruction and adherence to policies and procedures.
Maintains a visible presence for teachers and students – either online or onsite at virtual learning labs.
Monitors enrollment and re-enrollment processes, student progress, pacing, and completion rates, ensuring that targets are met.
Communicate with parents, families stakeholders, and support staff as needed to ensure success of students and programming.
Works with Special Education, EL and other wrap around services to ensure individual student needs are met within online programming.
Analyzes and uses data from online learning programs to ensure continuous improvement and growth within online programs.
Designs and facilitates training for all district distance learning facilitators and teachers in addition to providing ongoing support and training to facilitators and teachers as needed.
Reviews teacher-student communication logs from the student management system.
Prepares and submits enrollment and attendance reports as mandated by the State.
Promotes and supports professional development through training, in-service, and other development
Attends training sessions and conferences to keep abreast of current practices and legal issues.
Maintains a network of peer contacts through professional organizations.
Promotes high standards and strategies and scaffolds to help students achieve those standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Elementary Education Teachers – 1.0 FTE First Grade, 1.0 FTE Fourth Grade

EARLY CHILDHOOD SOCIAL WORKER

1.0 FTE Early Childhood School Social Worker at McKinley Early Childhood School.  This position works with the school and families promoting a positive learning environment for general and special education students; screen and identify students  through consultation with parents, staff and community agency personnel including collection and evaluating appropriate student records and developing and implementing interventions to allow students to be successful; write and present social work assessment summaries and recommendations for educational planning and social work services; maintain and facilitate the transition of students between schools or programs; serve as a resource to building staff regarding identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect.  Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating support groups, supervision of students and outreach efforts.  This position commences with the 2021/2022 school year on August 23, 2021.
