Description:

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers for River Valley Academy Alternative Learning Center (ALC) located in Winona, MN.  The HVED ALC Program is located within Minnesota State College Southeast campus and serves High School students grades 9-12.

 

Job Summary:

Ability to adapt instruction to the varying educational and behavioral demands and needs of the students
Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of students
Ability to collaborate with and provide direction to paraprofessionals

 

Teacher Qualifications:

Minnesota Teaching Licensed issued by Minnesota Department of Education
Experience working with students/children preferred

 

Paraprofessional Qualifications:

Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
Experience working with students/children preferred

 

Working Conditions:

Office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 13 School Districts and 2 Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has two (2) Setting IV Behavior Programs, Students Achieving Integrated Services (SAIL), that provide programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. The SAIL programs are located in Kellogg (SAIL) and Hokah (SAIL II, opening in September 2020).  Along with the SAIL programs, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SPECTRUM). Our SPECTRUM program is located in Caledonia. HVED is committed to providing the best services to staff, students, and member districts in southeast Minnesota. POSITION:

Work with students with physical impairments, other health impairments or traumatic brain injuries.  Travel between school districts within Hiawatha Valley Education District is required.  This is a .3 FTE position.

Job Summary:  Zumbro Education District (ZED) #6012 is an education district made up of seven member districts that offers among other things special education services and special education itinerant staff. The ZED school psychologist is employed by ZED but housed at an assigned member district. Job duties include but are not limited to: conduct/interpret assessments and attend evaluation results meetings, consult with school personnel regarding student issues with cognitive/behavioral regulation, participate on in-building problem solving teams, interpret educational data to make informed decisions on interventions.

Required qualifications:  Must be currently licensed by MDE as a School Psychologist.
