Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers & Paraprofessionals for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) SPECTRUM Program located in Caledonia, MN.

Teacher Job Summary:

Ability to adapt instruction to the varying educational and behavioral demands and needs of the students
Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of students
Ability to collaborate with and provide direction to paraprofessionals
Teacher Qualifications: Minnesota Teaching Licensed issued by Minnesota Department of Education
Experience working with students/children preferred
Paraprofessional Job Summary:Assisting teachers in their teaching duties and other general responsibilities
Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher
Monitors special education students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment

Paraprofessional Qualifications:

Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
Experience working with students/children preferred

Working Conditions:

Office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers and Paraprofessionals for Students Acheiving Integrated Learning (SAIL) Setting IV Behavior Program located in Kellogg, MN.

Teacher Job Summary:

Ability to adapt instruction to the varying educational and behavioral demands and needs of the students
Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of students
Ability to collaborate with and provide direction to paraprofessionals
Teacher Qualifications: Minnesota Teaching Licensed issued by Minnesota Department of Education
Experience working with students/children preferred

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 13 School Districts and 2 Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has two (2) Setting IV Behavior Programs, Students Achieving Integrated Services (SAIL), that provide programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. The SAIL programs are located in Kellogg (SAIL) and Hokah (SAIL II, opening in September 2020).  Along with the SAIL programs, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SPECTRUM). POSITION:

Work with students with physical impairments, other health impairments or traumatic brain injuries.  Travel between school districts within Hiawatha Valley Education District is required.  This is a .3 FTE position.
