Job Description:                    Full-time (1.0 FTE) EBD/ABS Teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School.  This position commences with the 2020-21 school year on August 24, 2020.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

School Psychologist

Job Summary:  Zumbro Education District (ZED) #6012 is an education district made up of seven member districts that offers among other things special education services and special education itinerant staff. The ZED school psychologist is employed by ZED but housed at an assigned member district. Job duties include but are not limited to: conduct/interpret assessments and attend evaluation results meetings, consult with school personnel regarding student issues with cognitive/behavioral regulation, participate on in-building problem solving teams, interpret educational data to make informed decisions on interventions.

Required qualifications:  Must be currently licensed by MDE as a School Psychologist.

Secondary School Assistant Principal

The Assistant Principal assists the Principal in managing the educational programs, operations, personnel, and financial resources within the building to ensure that district policies are followed, district and state standards are achieved, and the educational needs of all students are met.  This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities.

Job Summary:

  • Develop a safe and welcoming learning environment where all individuals are respected.
  • Develops policies and procedures dealing with behavior management, and parent/student/teacher issues.
  • Fosters high student achievement through coordination and supervision of student personnel services to ensure that the student’s educational needs are met.  This includes counseling services, special education, Child Study Team, 504 services, social services, community referrals, and other associated services.
  • Coordination and monitoring of the student database, attendance procedures and records, including tardiness and filing and monitoring of truancy petitions.
  • Coordination and monitoring of grade reporting procedures and maintenance of student records.
  • Supervision and coordination of registration procedures, including preparation of registration materials and facilitation of the process with guidance personnel.
  • Development of the building master schedule, determining assignment of teachers, students and locations.  This includes coordination with other buildings, supervision of data input, and the computer scheduling process.
  • Coordination of student activity programs with faculty advisors.
  • Is an integral member of the district leadership team serving on district and community committees.
  • Coordination of building staff committees as part of the site based shared decision making plan as assigned by the principal.
  • Supervision of professional staff through the Individual Growth and Assessment process.
  • Supervision of assigned clerical and paraprofessional staff.
  • Recruitment, interviewing, and selection processes for building level personnel.
  • Public relations and communication including orientation, newsletters, and school events.
  • Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.

Physical Therapist (Long Term Sub)

Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented and motivated Licensed Physical Therapist to work with students in the Education District. The Education District is looking for a Physical Therapist to fulfill a temporary position between July 1, 2020 through October 2, 2020.  This position will serve students within the following school districts: Caledonia, Houston/MNVA, La Crescent-Hokah, Mabel-Canton, Rushford-Peterson, Spring Grove and SPECTRUM program.

Essential Functions:

Conduct physical therapy assessment and intervention for children with disabilities
Ability to instruct school personnel such as paraprofessionals, teachers, etc., in conducting regularly scheduled exercises/activities with students when appropriate

Position:
Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented, self-motivated School Psychologist position serving La Crescent-Hokah School District within the Education District. This position is full-time 1.0 FTE with 185 days per year.  This position is for the 2020-2021 School Year.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Conducts psychological assessments; evaluates students for special education/section 504 needs, educational skills, social skills and emotional status
Designs and facilitates programs for children at-risk for failure within the typical learning environment
Facilitates communication between teachers, administrators, parents and students to find solutions to academic, behavioral, and mental health problems; assists others to understand child issues.
Provides psychological counseling; helps students, families and school manage crisis situations to minimize their effect on the learning and mental capacity of the child
Evaluates the effectiveness of academic and behavioral management programs being used; disseminates research for use in evaluations and programs
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and create Behavior Intervention Plans
Provide leadership to staff and administration in the areas of Multi-Tier Systems of support (MTSS) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Facilitate data-team (screening/progress monitoring) and child-study team (individual problem-solving) meetings
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Education, building Principal and other administrators.

Travel Requirements:
Travel between School Districts and professional development required.
