Lewiston-Altura School District has an opening for a fulltime 7-12 high school Physical Education and Health teacher position for the 2019-2020 school year. The PE/Health position will be under the Education Minnesota Lewiston-Altura master agreement under supervision of the high school principal. Physical Education / Health Teacher Responsibilities
-Teach courses related to physical education and health to students in grades 7-12 in 40 and 80 minute classes
-Work as part of a team within the Physical Education Department within the building and district
-Participate in PLC and Department meetings
-Attend building and district staff development
-Develop and maintain accurate student records
-Develop and update curriculum documents and assessments for required and elective courses
-Communicate with students and parents regarding progress
-Attend orientation and parent/teacher conferences
-Participate in preparation of department budget
Required Skills/Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in physical educational/health field
-Minnesota K-12 Physical Education teaching license or ability to obtain licensure by start date
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
-Minnesota K-12 Health teaching license or related licensure or ability to obtain licensure by start date
-Minnesota K-12 Developmental Adapted Physical Education licensure
-Knowledge of SHAPE America standards
-Knowledge of health careers and Minnesota Career Readiness standards
