Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented and motivated full-time Special Education EBD Teacher to work in the Students Achieve Integrated Learning (SAIL) Program. The SAIL program is located in Kellogg, Minnesota and provides services and support to Kindergarten through High School students during the school day.
Essential Functions: A full-time (1.0 FTE) First Grade Long-term Substitute Teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School. Performs professional work providing a broad range of teaching services within our elementary school, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience. This position will start approximately Jan. 24, 2020 and will end June 5, 2020.
Job Description: Part time (.5 FTE) ABS and/or SLD Teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School. This position commences on January 6th, 2020.

Job Description: A 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute Early Childhood teacher position for Falcon’s Nest Preschool, a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten site at Roosevelt Elementary School. Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students. This teacher will also work with a classroom paraprofessional to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children. The position is 5 days a week from 7:30AM-3:30PM. This position commences on March 16 – June 5, 2020. Falcon’s Nest Preschool is a part of the Minnesota Centers of Excellence Pyramid Model Innovation Grant. Applicants with knowledge and experience in a multi-tiered system of support for young learners are preferred.

Job Duties:
1. Teach classes as assigned by the ABE Program Coordinator
2. Develop engaging curricula in accordance with program standards and instructional practices relevant to adult learners
3. Document and evaluate student progress using formative and summative assessment such as TABE or CASAS
4. Adapt teaching style to engage and retain students
5. Facilitate and integrate technology into instruction
6. Monitor attendance and student progress using the MN ABE online database
