ECFE Parent Educator – Part time position

PART-TIME ECFE PARENT EDUCATOR

Caledonia Area Community Education currently has an opening for a part-time ECFE Parent Educator beginning the 2019-2020 school year.   Parent and Family Education or Family Education/Early Childhood licensure required but a variance may need to be approved through the Minnesota Department of Education if not appropriately licensed.  Previous experience is a plus.  Interested persons should submit a letter of application, resume including references, transcript, and a copy of current Minnesota licensure, to:  Nancy Runningen, Caledonia Community Education Director, 825 N. Three-year-old Preschool Teacher for Hand in Hand Preschool – Part time position

Early Childhood Family Education Teacher

.6 FTE Early Childhood Family Education Teacher – District Wide. Classes typically take place three days per week and include Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

The selected candidate will:

-Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans, instructional materials and classroom environments based on approved curriculum.
-Provides and leads large group, small group and individualized instruction.
-Assesses learners’ growth and development through regular data collection; prepares progress reports.
-Collaborates in identifying pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals as needed.
-Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences, etc.
-Works in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors.
-Maintains and improves professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices.
-Participates in a professional learning community on a regular basis.
-Integration of technology into instruction.
-Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
-Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
-Work within an Early Learning Services Team to build student skills in such a way that promotes high level outcome for all students.
-Expand the outreach work of ECFE into the community, apartment complexes, libraries, community providers and so on
-Work with ECFE Coordinator to develop classes, brochures, website updates, etc

Adult Basic Education Program Teacher

Job Duties:
1. Teach classes as assigned by the ABE Program Coordinator
2. Develop engaging curricula in accordance with program standards and instructional practices relevant to adult learners
3. Document and evaluate student progress using formative and summative assessment such as TABE or CASAS
4. Adapt teaching style to engage and retain students
5. Facilitate and integrate technology into instruction
6. Monitor attendance and student progress using the MN ABE online database

1. Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of Faribault Public Schools and Minnesota Adult Basic Education programming and comply willingly with all organizational policies and procedures
2. Supports and facilitates positive interactions with others by exhibiting individual maturity, respect for others, and a team-centered approach
3. Maintains student confidentiality by complying with the Family Education Rights and Privacy (FERPA) Act
4. Values a multicultural workplace
5. Exhibits effective verbal and written communication/presentation skills
6. Maintains good working relationships with administrative, clerical and program staff within the Community Education/Adult Basic Education program, Faribault Public Schools and with staff of partnering agencies
