Health/Physical Education Teacher, 7-12, Full Time (1.0), Lewiston-Altura Public Schools

Lewiston-Altura School District has an opening for a fulltime 7-12 high school Physical Education and Health teacher position for the 2019-2020 school year. The PE/Health position will be under the Education Minnesota Lewiston-Altura master agreement under supervision of the high school principal. Physical Education / Health Teacher Responsibilities

-Teach courses related to physical education and health to students in grades 7-12 in 40 and 80 minute classes
-Work as part of a team within the Physical Education Department within the building and district
-Participate in PLC and Department meetings
-Attend building and district staff development
-Develop and maintain accurate student records
-Develop and update curriculum documents and assessments for required and elective courses
-Communicate with students and parents regarding progress
-Attend orientation and parent/teacher conferences
-Participate in preparation of department budget

Required Skills/Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in physical educational/health field
-Minnesota K-12 Physical Education teaching license or ability to obtain licensure by start date

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

-Minnesota K-12 Health teaching license or related licensure or ability to obtain licensure by start date
-Minnesota K-12 Developmental Adapted Physical Education licensure
-Knowledge of SHAPE America standards
-Knowledge of health careers and Minnesota Career Readiness standards

Custodian/Maintenance Crew Member

Intermediate School Secretary

Lewiston-Altura Intermediate School is seeking a qualified individual to fill the school secretary position. The Intermediate School secretary is a 190 day position. This position reports directly to the Intermediate School principal. This position works in coordination with other support staff and receives task requests from administrative and teaching staff. A high school diploma is required with advanced training preferred. Salary and Benefits based on current support staff handbook. Salary based on experience. Math Teacher, 7-12, Full-time (1.0) – Lewiston-Altura Public Schools

Lewiston-Altura School District has an opening for a full-time 7-12 grade math teacher at the high school for the 2019-2020 school year. The 7-12 math position will be under the Education Minnesota Lewiston-Altura master agreement under supervision of the high school principal. The school day runs from 8:00 until 3:00 and teacher day begins at 7:30 and runs until 3:15. Candidates need to submit a completed application through the AppliTrack system in order to be consider for the position; all materials and questions can be directed to Cory Hanson, high school principal, at 507-523-2191.

Job Summary: This position develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instructions, evaluates and assesses both instructional material and student performance in courses from seventh grade through Calculus. The incumbent meets with parents, interprets student progress, and informs parents about student strengths, weaknesses, and or programs. This is one of three positions in the high school math department.

Bachelor’s degree in an education field
Minnesota 5-12 Mathematics licensure

English Language Learner Teacher, K-12, Part-time (.5) – Lewiston Altura Public Schools

Lewiston-Altura School District has an opening for a .5 fte K-12 English Language Learner Teacher (.4 high school newcomer program and .1 elementary ELL instruction) position for the 2019-2020 school year. This ELL teaching position will be under the Education Minnesota Lewiston-Altura master agreement under supervision of the district principals.

ELL Teacher:

· Assists with the development of and implementation of an English Learner Plan within the students scheduled day.

· Assists with implementation of the follow steps in the district seven step process:

a. Step 3 – Parent notifications

b. Step 4 – Service

c. Step 5 – Progress evaluation

Required Skills/Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in an education field

· Minnesota K-12 ELL licensure
