Essential Functions:

– Coordinates the day to day activities of the business office to ensure an orderly workflow; ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, local, state and federal statutes and board policy; assists in the supervision and coordination of business office staff.
– Coordinates the budgeting process; monitors the budget facilitation;  aids staff with balances and codes throughout the year; manages financial reporting.
– Prepares and arranges for the internal auditing of accounts.
– Coordinates the preparation of the required annual external audit of district accounts.
– Assists in the implementation and coordination of the district’s accounting functions.
– Maintains the Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) coding system; trains staff on the use of the coding system and financial software.
– Assists with making projections and forecasting estimates.
– Attends various meetings as a representative and member of the department.
– Assists with financial system and upkeep.

K-6 Speech & Language Pathologist

The School District of New Berlin is seeking a K-6 Speech & Language Pathologist position.   Must have or have the ability to obtain a Wisconsin DPI Speech & Language license.

This position involves the provision of speech and language services focused on the prevention, assessment and remediation services for students who exhibit impairments in the areas of language, speech, voice and fluency in an educational environment. Emphasis is on the provision of speech and language in the student’s natural environment and/or regular classroom unless there are specific counter indicators. The speech/language therapist is also involved to a significant degree with use of augmentative communication devises, assistive technology, social language, pragmatics, and other aspects of oral communication that affect a student’s
educational progress.

Responsibilities:
•    Participate in efforts to prevent academic failure through use of evidence-based practice (EBP) in prevention approaches
•    Conduct assessments in collaboration with others that help to identify students with communication disorders as well as to inform instruction and intervention
•    Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student and is selected through an evidence-based decision-making process
•    Work in partnership with parents, teachers, and administrators to identify and meet student communication needs
•    Provide direction in defining their roles and responsibilities and in ensuring delivery of appropriate services to students

Qualifications:
•    ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or CFY. Knowledge of special education speech programming, special education law and paperwork preferred
•    Ability to work collaboratively with an instructional team
•    Knowledgeable with special education procedures and delineation of services
•    Familiar with the IEP process
•    Skilled in the use of assistive technology and other communication devises
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Familiar with inclusionary practices (co-teaching, RtI)
•    Skilled in use of a wide variety of assessment instruments and strategies
•    Current with state criteria for determining speech/language impairment and need for special education
•    Knowledgeable with normal development for students aged 3-21

High School Principal

Lewiston-Altura, ISD 857, is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as High School Principal. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a history of putting students first, excellent public relations skills, up to date on the use and implementation of technology in the classroom, a strong knowledge and understanding of best practices in curriculum and instruction and the building of the master schedule, to supervise and evaluate classroom teachers and to help guide professional learning communities and action research within the classrooms. The candidate will show evidence of being licensed as a high school principal in Minnesota, or provide evidence to be licensed before the start of the 2019-20 school year.

Lewiston-Altura School District; Demographics

Lewiston, Minnesota is located on Highway 14, approximately twelve miles from Winona, thirty miles from Rochester, and fourty miles from La Crosse, WI. Altura is located ten miles north of Lewiston and approximately five miles from Whitewater State Park which attracts visitors year round for hiking, fishing, and canoeing. The Lewiston-Altura School District is located entirely within Winona County and encompasses 160 square miles with a current enrollment of 750 students K-12. The 2010 census showed the school district population to be 4,310. The cities of Lewiston and Altura are included entirely within the school district which also serves children from Elba, Rollingstone, Stockton, Winona, Rushford, Peterson, St. Charles, and Utica. The high school serves approximately 400 students.
