Teacher-Options Program
This is a full time teaching position assigned to our Options Program. The Options program will be starting its 9th year and is an opportunity for students to chase their dreams, passions, and potential future careers as we prepare students to be college and career ready. Students and teachers work together in a project based environment to develop learning pathways based on the interests and academic strengths of the students that coincide with our state standards. Students work on projects based on these interests and academic strengths through research, community expert collaborations, and hands on experiences through our local workforce partnerships.
Students also have the ability to create learning opportunities with our community business partners to have hands on career experiences and explorations through our mentorship program. The teacher works with our business partners to develop these mentorship experiences for our students.

Essential Functions: A full-time (1.0 FTE) Counselor – Faribault High School. Responds to student needs with counseling, consultation & referral services. Assists the Principal setting schedules in response to students’ needs and desires. Monitors student academic progress and communicates with parents on current achievements. Works in collaboration with the Principal to develop and implement interventions designed to resolve academic performance and behavioral and/or discipline issues. Provides advocacy for students and families experiencing crisis pertaining to chemical health and also homelessness. This position commences with the 2018-19 school year on August 13, 2018.
