Chief Finance & Operations Officer

The School District of New Berlin is a dynamic district dedicated to academic excellence. We are located in southeastern Wisconsin in Waukesha County approximately 20 miles from downtown Milwaukee. We currently serve approximately 4750 students with 4 elementary (K-6) schools and 2 middle/high (7-12) schools. Our schools are staffed by highly qualified, talented employees. The School District of New Berlin is seeking a Chief Finance & Operations Officer to begin on or before July 1, 2019.

Under the direction of the Superintendent and in collaboration with the Chief Academic Officer, the Chief Finance & Operations Officer will lead the operations directors and business office staff driven by the vision, mission, values and goals and identified within the strategic plan .

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership in implementation of all laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practices related to school district finance and operations;
  • Organize, prepare and monitor long-range financial plans, including annual and multi-year operating and capital budgets;
  • Monitor the leadership and administration of personnel functions, such as recruitment and hiring, indoctrination and training, employee benefits, labor relations and the employee experience;
  • Monitor the leadership and administration of planning, construction, maintenance and care of facilities (buildings, grounds, equipment) and other physical resources of the district;
  • Monitor the leadership and administration of technology support for the instructional and support functions of the district;
  • Monitor the leadership and administration of transportation services to assure safe, reliable and cost effectiveness;
  • Monitor the leadership and administration of the national school lunch program;
  • Plan, organize, prepare and monitor accounting, auditing, financial reporting, cash, investments and debt;
  • Plan, organize and monitor the acquisition and management of property, materials, equipment and services.
  • Plan, organize and monitor implementation and updates to management information systems;
  • Plan, organize and monitor risk management and safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to assure the smooth and effective operation of the district.

Full-time (1.0 FTE) Long-Term Substitute Secondary Language Arts Teacher – High School
