ADULT EDUCATION COORDINATOR

Adult Education Coordinator – Faribault Education Center. Oversees the staff and operations of adult education, adult enrichment and adults with disabilities, and related work as apparent or assigned. This position is 245 days per year and commences with the 2017-2018 school year immediately upon hire.  Annual salary: $81,500.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

– This position will be responsible for implementing and administering board policies and local, state or federal laws to provide programming that meets the needs for adult basic education and adults with disabilities.
– Develops and implements adult basic education, including English Language, adults with disabilities and adult enrichment programming in accordance with community needs.
– Provides leadership for educational, recreational and social programming to adults with disabilities and adult enrichment for community members.
– Develops and monitors budget and programming. Seeks additional funding through grants, fundraising, raising public awareness and collaboration opportunities.
– Provides leadership, direction, mentoring and development to adult education, adults with disabilities and adult enrichment staff.
– Acts as a liaison, advocate and leader for programming working in collaboration with other similar agencies.

AVID Tutor

AVID is a system that targets potential college students who need support. AVID prepares these students by teaching them college readiness skills. Students are enrolled in advanced courses and given academic support through tutors.

 

Position Duties:
Work with small groups of high school students. Determine from student notes and discussions, the concepts that need to be taught or reviewed.  Evaluate student binders and planners, class and textbook notes, etc.  Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow. Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern. Tutors will be trained and will receive ongoing feedback and assistance with implementing AVID resources.

Hours/Schedule
Average of 2.5 hours a day / 2 days a week

Assistant Varsity Coach – Girls Track & Field

– Lead the planning, development and execution of the sport program by focusing on building a positive culture and developing quality relationships with student-athletes and parents.
– Implement an effective training and competition regiment that maximizes student-athlete performance in the sport
– Provide direction and evaluation for assistant coaches throughout the program to ensure continuity through all levels.
– Communicate effectively with all program stakeholders to ensure a positive, quality experience is provided for our student-athletes
– Manage and track all equipment inventory and program budget each year
– Perform all other duties as outlined by the Faribault Public Schools, MSHSL, Faribault Coaches Handbook, and Section Tournament Administrators

Special Education Paraprofessional – Early Childhood

Position Summary: The Special Education Paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher with performing duties necessary to meet the educational, personal, physical, and behavioral needs of an individual or group of special education students. The Special Education Paraprofessional’s primary focus is on directly serving students or in preparation for meeting the student’s needs. This position, specifically, would be assisting with preschool students, ages 3-5, that are enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education program. Language Skills: Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Present information in one-to-one and small group situations to students, parents, and or staff. Other Skills and Abilities: Provide a variety of suggestions for working with students in the special education setting. Maintain flexibility in day to day dealing with staff and students. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Schedule: Monday – Friday / 6.5 hours per day / 8:00AM – 3:00PM

English as a Second Language Teacher – Starting the 2018-2019 School Year
