Behavior Intervention Coordinator

Summary of Job Duties: Performs intermediate human support work helping coordinate a positive behavior intervention plan that addresses students behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful. The Behavior Intervention Specialist also provides classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies drawing on multiple disciplines, including community health, social work, psychology, counseling and education. Interventionist will observe and interact with individuals and groups to assist with the healthy functioning of the students. Interventionists will focus on specific behaviors impacting the students or classrooms, and related work as apparent or assigned. Essential Functions: -Lead staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior; and identifying antecedents; assist with the creation and alignment of classroom behavioral expectations and classroom management plans; act as a resource regarding student management issues; assist in the planning, developing, and implementation of student behavioral plans. -Work with other personnel to develop, implement and evaluate interventions for student success -Coordinate and enforce school behavioral expectations, including attendance and classroom alignment with school-wide goals. -Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staff -Help students work towards positive citizenship improving their academic and behavior skills and abilities -Work with MS and HS administration/counseling to determine 9th grade student academy placement -Stay current with current best practices research and strategies -Analyze data on student and program success and report to MDE (ADSIS) -Assist in the maintenance of the crisis management plan and school safety efforts

.56 FTE Early Childhood Teacher – McKinley Center

A 0.56 FTE Early Childhood teacher position is open at McKinley Early Childhood Center. Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students. This teacher will also work with a classroom paraprofessional to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children.

Full-time (1.0 FTE) Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst

A full-time (1.0 FTE) Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the Faribault Public Schools. The BCBA will provide behavior analysis services and develop behavior intervention plans for special education students. In addition, support and professional learning will be provided to school staff, paraprofessionals, and parents/guardians, with respect to behavior intervention techniques, conducting assessments, and developing behavior intervention plans. Essential Functions:The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties. 1. Acts as liaison with the public and mental health community for the purpose of supporting individual student development goals; 2. Collaborates with programs and services for behaviorally or emotionally disturbed students for the purpose of improved functioning and ensuring program eligibility and compliance with established guidelines; 3. Assists with student crisis intervention; 4. Assists in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors; 5. Assists in developing procedures and training materials for District staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students and ensuring that program operations are in compliance with established guidelines; 6. Collaborates with school personnel, agencies, and families in coordinating individualized behavior services for students; 7. Collects and summarizes behavioral data; 8. Completes all reporting requirements as mandated by the District, state, federal, and educational agencies (i.e. restraint and seclusion, assessments, behavioral data); 9. Conducts workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc. in classroom management techniques and other topics for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective relationships with behaviorally or emotionally challenged students; 10. Facilitates and coaches teams through the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments/behavior interventions plans and crisis plans for identified students; 11. Implements and coaches school personnel on research based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies; 12. Participates in the development of Individualized Educational Programs for students; 13. Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines; 14. Provides social skills instruction to students utilizing research based methodologies and approved District curricula; 15. Performs related duties as assigned and/or required.
