Leadership responsibilities: Supervise staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and maintain a health and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school and prioritizes the needs and maintenance of the School. Job Title: Controller 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 260 days per year Essential Functions: -Coordinates the day to day activities of the business office to ensure an orderly workflow; ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, local, state and federal statutes and board policy; assists in the supervision and coordination of business office staff. -Coordinates the budgeting process; monitors the budget facilitation; aides staff with balances and codes throughout the year; manages financial reporting. -Prepares and arranges for the internal auditing of accounts; cooperates with independent auditors to complete the external annual audit and audit report. -Assists in the implementation and coordination of the district’s accounting functions. -Maintains the Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) coding system; trains staff on the use of the coding system and financial software. -Assists with making projections and forecasting estimates. -Attends various meetings as a representative and member of the department. -Assists with financial system and upkeep.
