Principal for STEAM School – Grades 5 – 6

The Austin Public School District is currently seeking to hire a Principal for IJ Holton Intermediate School, which is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) School. The assignment will begin 7/1/2016. Leadership responsibilities at STEAM Intermediate school: *Supervise staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and maintain a health and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations. *Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school and prioritizes the needs and maintenance of the School. *Coordinate activities of the school through various committees, teams and external stakeholders. *Administer and monitor the Intermediate School budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures. *Implement School objectives and goals as directed by the Board and Superintendent. *Oversee and coordinate the student disciplinary process which includes attendance, trades, chemical violations, in-school suspensions, suspensions and expulsions. *Facilitate meetings to develop and discuss Intermediate School programs, curriculums, budgets, staffing and other matters related to the overall performance and day-to-day operations of Intermediate School. *Perform other duties of similar nature and level.
