Job Description: Faribault Public Schools Adult Education is seeking English Language, GED, and Digital Literacy instructors for summer school classes at the Faribault Education Center and community locations. AM Hours: Mon-Thurs 9 am – 12 pm + daily prep (approx. 15 hrs/week). PM Hours: Mon & Wed 5:30 – 8:00 pm (approx. 6 hrs/week). Additional or fewer hours available if desired; options also exist to share positions based on scheduling needs. Licensed teachers paid at $31.87 per hour. Non-licensed instructional leads paid at $21.76 per hour.
Essential Functions:
Design and develop instructional materials and lesson plans tailored to the needs and skill levels of adult learners through Burlington English Curriculum.
Provide dynamic and interactive instruction tailored for adult learners, employing diverse teaching methods to suit various learning styles effectively.
Administer assessments and evaluate student performance to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.
Provide personalized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of adult learners, including those with different learning abilities and backgrounds.
Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics, promoting mutual respect, and enforcing relevant policies and procedures.
Incorporate technology tools and resources effectively into instruction to enhance learning outcomes and facilitate student engagement.
Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students to help them achieve their learning goals and overcome challenges.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and other stakeholders to align instructional goals, share best practices, and contribute to program development and improvement.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in adult education and to maintain licensure.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement, and prepare timely reports for internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Advocate for the needs and interests of adult learners, including advocating for resources, services, and support to promote student success and retention.
Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence in working with diverse adult learner populations, respecting individual differences and promoting inclusivity.
Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders through verbal, written, and digital channels to facilitate learning and collaboration.
Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards governing adult education programs, ensuring compliance in all instructional activities and interactions.
Compensation and Benefits:
$31.57 for licensed teachers, $21.76 for non-licensed instructional leads.
