Alternative Learning Center/Owatonna Online Principal

Description:
The Principal of Alternative Learning Center Programs and Owatonna Online is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Owatonna ALC/OO, including regular day programming, independent study, night program, summer credit recovery and targeted services; develops and implements student discipline policies and procedures; schedules; reviews credits for graduation; supervises and evaluates ALC/OO staff. The Principal of Alternative Learning Center Programs & Owatonna Online provides overall leadership and support to Grades 7-12 Owatonna Online in Owatonna Public Schools. This position designs and implements a long range strategy for our online learning program including course selection and design, online teaching and learning, academic support, recruitment and policies and procedures. Oversees the daily operation of 7-12 online instruction and provides ongoing leadership and support.

 

Salary and Terms of Contract:
Regionally Competitive.  Salary and Benefit package as negotiated in collective bargaining agreement. 52 week contract year.

Early Childhood Teacher – Roosevelt Elementary

Job Description: A 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute Early Childhood teacher position for Falcon’s Nest Preschool, a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten site at Roosevelt Elementary School.  Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students.  This teacher will also work with a classroom paraprofessional to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children. The position is 5 days a week from 7:30AM-3:30PM. This position commences Feb. 2, 2024 – May 31, 2024.  Falcon’s Nest Preschool is a part of the Minnesota Centers of Excellence Pyramid Model Innovation Grant.  Applicants with knowledge and experience in a multi-tiered system of support for young learners are preferred.

SUMMARY

Provide quality instruction aligned to the state and national standards. Use a variety of assessment strategies – diagnostic, formative and summative, to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning. Rigorous inquiry-based learning tasks engage students in deep content of the discipline as well as the habits of scholarship. May be required to work as a member of the campus STEM team to ensure quality integrated instruction across disciplines.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Have a working knowledge of and implement the Minnesota State Standards and the District Graduation Requirements; knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.

* Teach students the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning and problem solving.

* Collaborate with peers to develop, plan and implement best practices based on the needs/abilities of the students.

* Assess students’ developmental, cognitive and social needs and provide developmentally appropriate instruction to meet those needs.

* Create lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful and interesting as well as multicultural/gender and ability fair/developmentally appropriate.

* Collaborate and communicate regularly with families in making educational decisions and use family and community resources to support learning.

Acquire knowledge of the goals of the Minneapolis Public School District Improvement Agenda and site/school goals. Work to support and achieve those goals.

* Assess own instructional effectiveness through the Professional Development Process (PDP). Participate in ongoing and regular staff, team and individual professional development.

Faribault Education Center (FEC) Manager

Job Description:

Faribault Public Schools Community Education is seeking a full-time manager position to oversee students, staff, volunteers and programming at the Faribault Education Center. This year-round position is on a 260-day contract and requires flexibility in scheduling based on events; but must include one or two evenings per week. Salary is $68,010 plus benefits. This is a newly created position. Ideal start date is March 1st; however, a flexible start date may be an option based on selected candidate’s availability.

Essential Functions:

Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for diverse students, staff, families and community members
Manage and supervise FEC students, staff, volunteers and programming in collaboration with FEC Coordinator
Oversee, manage, and implement grant requirements, as needed
Collect data for grants and enter into required systems (SID, SaleForce, Workforce One), as needed
Strengthen current workplace ESL programming and expand offsite partnerships
Create and implement program-wide distance learning plan to increase student contact hours
Provide innovative thinking and design systems to enhance course offerings, create efficiencies and improve processes
Plan events for students and staff (open house, registration events, graduation, etc.)
Attend local, regional, and state-wide meetings and professional development related to FEC programming
Manage day-to-day operations when FEC Coordinator is offsite or absent

Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Job Description:  Full-time (1.0 FTE) Early Childhood Special Education Teacher with Faribault Public Schools.  This position will work with children ages birth through five; supporting either our home-based birth to 3 program or our preschool programming which includes evaluations, inclusion support, or self-contained classrooms. Faribault ECSE teachers conduct evaluations, develop IFSPs/IEPs, and provide evidence-based special education interventions. Our teams utilize the EQIP model within the birth to 3 programming and the Pyramid Initiative within our preschool programs. Preschool classes are located in two of our elementary buildings and our early learning center which provides our program a variety of class models and locations. This position begins immediately upon hire.

This position commences immediately upon hire and will be assigned based on interviews with candidates as well as programming needs. You will be supported by a team that includes speech pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, other ECSE teachers, early learning coordinator, and case facilitator.
