Paraprofessionals Class II (Special Education)

Worthington ISD 518 is seeking a Class II (Special Education) Paraprofessional at Prairie Elementary.  Applicants should have training and experience working with a diverse student population.  Job requirements will include working closely with licensed staff in the regular education and/or special education classroom and providing small group academic and behavioral support to students.  Candidates may be required to provide specialized transportation (training provided).  Preference will also be given to applicants with some college training or a completed paraprofessional competency portfolio.  This position will be approximately 7.0 hours per day, 9 months per year.  Please send cover letter, resume, application and credentials via Applitrack, accessible on the district website www.isd518.net.

Worthington Middle School is looking for paraprofessionals to work with students in our Special Education and English Language Programs.  Candidates must have a positive attitude, be able to implement student programs, maintain confidentiality, work as a member of a team, supervise students at lunch and outdoor recess, and be patient and understanding.  Applicants should be able to assist licensed staff and perform duties as assigned.  Student transportation to or from school in a school van might also be an added duty. Hourly wage starts at $16.06.

Parent Educator

The Parent Educator is responsible for planning, developing lesson plans and facilitating parent discussion groups to discuss and explore family needs, parenting skills, and to discuss specific parenting issues with parents. The parent Educator researches, interprets and presents current information on family issues, serves as a resource to parents and provides referral information, as needed. The Parent Educator also assists in working with community agencies to maintain relationships to ensure a non-duplication of services as well as generating new ideas to reach our ‘at-risk’ parents.
