Assistant Principal

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Assistant Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership within the building by implementing educational and district initiatives at the building level and for assisting, supervising, and overseeing all school operations, personnel, and activities within their assigned building.  The Assistant Principal collaborates and works closely with other administrators, staff, students, and the public in addressing and meeting the educational needs and goals of the district, its students, and its families, and in performing various public relation responsibilities within the community. The Assistant Principal assists in providing leadership to the professional staff in determining objectives and identifying school needs as the basis for developing long and short-range plans for the school. The Assistant Principal provides assistance and administrative support to the building principal and also assists the principal in the overall administration of the school and assumes leadership of the school in the absence of the principal.
