Interventionist Grades 3-5
This position will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. The interventionist will effectively collaborate with both classroom teachers and students to ensure the goals of the school improvement plan are met. The School Improvement goals are (1) to ensure students are equipped with social emotional learning skills, and (2) ensure each classroom delivers high level of instructional rigor and curriculum alignment. This position includes professional development planning and implementation.
Plan and implement direct intensive intervention goals with students who need Tier 3 interventions using research based resources. Assist in a systematic school-wide approach to MTSS by observing implementation and providing coaching and support to teachers and others who are implementing the interventions.
Provide direct curriculum and instructional support services to teachers including effective strategies and interventions, and using progress monitoring tools that will measure student growth resulting from the intervention.
Analyze ongoing data to make decisions about next steps.
Provides thorough explanations and modeling as necessary for teachers and others on how to implement research-based academic interventions with fidelity.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual small group instruction as needed.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
Provides support to teachers related to effective curriculum development and review as well as teaching strategies, methods, and practices.
Provides training, supports, and professional development to teachers related to modifying teaching strategies and practices for struggling students to ensure mastery of curriculum and standards.
Provides consultation with teachers in analyzing test data and the correlation to improved curriculum development and instructional strategies.
Support non-certified personnel efforts in general education classrooms.

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

Certification/LicenseMinnesota Teaching License as an Elementary School Teacher.
Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
EducationBachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree preferred.
ExperienceSuccessful prior teaching, school improvement, professional learning, coaching, mentoring, and/or intervention experience preferred.
A minimum of fours years of demonstrated and effective teaching experience
