Job Summary:

District 518 Community Education is seeking a teacher for its Adult Basic Education program to teach two evenings a week in Adrian, Minnesota. Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the English language classroom/GED classroom, including the facilitation of student learning, program development, recordkeeping, and reporting. This is a part-time position, approximately 5 hours a week. A valid Minnesota teaching license in any content area is required.

Special Education Assessment Teacher

Special Education Assessment Teacher (SEAT) at Willmar Public Schools, 2024-2025 school year.

Duties of a Special Education Assessment Teacher:
-Collects background information for evaluation
-Summarizes parent reporting
-Transition assessments early childhood-school age and 14 years of age
-Academic Testing
-Assessments specific to area of expertise
-Partner/collaborate with Student Success Team and 504 team; however does not implement interventions directly
-Review medical findings
-Writes Comprehensive summaries
-Communicates with Special Education Coach regarding newly qualified students and evaluations status of students

Special Education Teacher- Job Description
-Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP.
-Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
-Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.
-Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
-Adheres to procedural requirements, including due process timelines.
-Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student’s IEP.
-Serves as primary contact for the parent.
-Schedules team meetings.
-Conducts special education evaluations and reevaluations.
-Establishes and maintains student control and discipline in the classroom, school premises or during school activities by communicating expectations of appropriate behavior. Employs and implements a classroom structure and consistency to encourage student responsibility, cooperation and mutual respect consistent with district policies and procedures.
-Provides instructional direction to paraprofessional support staff: assigns activities, provides guidance and instructional oversight.
-Collaborates and consults with educational professionals and community service providers (i.e., social services, public health, medical providers, etc.) regarding the needs of students. Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
-Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature or as assigned.
-Provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff and the community concerning areas of instructional expertise/knowledge.
-Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district and departmental meetings.
-Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.

Paraprofessional

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the teacher and/or the building principal and guidance of the classroom teacher, performs a variety of duties involved in the educational support of students.  The Educational Paraprofessional monitors students, supports in behavior and discipline needs, and works with students to reinforce material that are introduced by the teacher.

Activities Director

JCC has a 1.0 F.T.E. Activities Director position available for the 2024-25 school year for grades 7-12. This position will be responsible for scheduling activities, transportation, and practices, supervising events, and organizing and administering coaching staff as well as other duties as they relate to activities.
