Worthington High School is looking for a bilingual paraprofessional to work with students in our English Language Learner program. Spanish/English would be the preferred languages.  Candidates must have a positive attitude, be able to implement student programs following the teacher’s instructions, maintain confidentiality, work as a member of a team, supervise students, and be patient and understanding.  Applicants should be able to assist licensed staff and perform duties as assigned.  Student transportation to or from school in the school van might also be an added duty.

Minimum Starting Salary-$16.06 per hour.

Classroom Paraprofessional (Instructional)

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.

Starting Minimum Wage:
$16.06/hour

Essential Job Functions

–  Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.

–  Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.

–  Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.

–  Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.

–  Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.

–  Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.

–  Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.

–  Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.

–  Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.

–  Assists teacher with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education.

–  Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement if IEP objectives, etc.

–  Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.

–  Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.

–  Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

Additional Duties:

–  Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.

–  Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Profile

–  Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

–  High School diploma or equivalent.

–  Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.

–  Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Technology Support Technician

IT Support Technician

Position Summary:  The Worthington School District 518 is seeking a technology technician for support in the support and setup of mobile devices in the K-12 educational programming.  This position will be expected to support technology in the initial setup, distribution and maintenance of all learning devices.  The person hired for this position is expected to work with Administration, District Coordinators and teaching staff on new trends in educational technology.

Other essential functions include:Work collaboratively with IT
Aid in inventorying, setting up and loading software programs on all devices.
Assist in maintain network and device security along with account management.
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electronic devices.
Reinforce the distribution and collection of the devices throughout the year.
Work with media, students, staff and administration whenever needed.
Perform other duties relevant to systems management and/or as assigned.
Required Qualification:Preferred a minimum of two (2) years of experience or education related to technology or related work experience.
Responsibilities:Provides technical support for students and staff.
Diagnoses technical problems.
Researches and identifies appropriate solutions.
Organizes and prioritizes technical support schedule.
Maintains troubleshooting documentation.
Maintains contact with staff and students to ensure quality level of support.
Interacts with users in non-technical, clear terms.
Adheres to and enforces policies, rules and regulations relating to technology use.
Coordinates moving, installation and setup of technology; including but not limited to classroom technology, audio visual, telephones and peripheral equipment.
Loads and installs software.
Repairs technology equipment.
Determine reassigning or surplus of outdated equipment.
Creates, tests and implements user profiles, accounts and e-mail accounts for the network.
Maintains and updates network logins, including changing passwords, setting up classes and assisting staff and students who are unable to logon to the network.
Develops, maintains and troubleshoots databases for network and web based software.
Assists the Network Administrator in maintaining the networks including installing network cards and cabling, server installations, basic troubleshooting and maintaining server backups.
Evaluates network needs for staff and students; recommends networking software/hardware components.
Researches technical manuals, guides, web sites and user groups.
Contacts vendors to answer user questions and solve technical problems.
Performs diagnostics on technology and related equipment.
Maintains an accurate inventory of hardware and software that belongs to the district and to individual schools in the district.
Reports to:  IT Director

Length of Contract:  260 day contract

Salary and Benefits:  Probationary pay starts at $19.50 per hour.

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students’ skills and competence in one or more fields of science, including general science, earth science, biology, physiology, chemistry, and physics; develops students skills and abilities in scientific methods and problem-solving, as well as an understanding of the application of science in the solution of practical problems.

Essential Functions
Worthington School District 518 is seeking a High School (9-12) Life and/or Earth Science Teacher for the 2022-23 school year. Applicants must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license. Experience working with a diverse student population, collaboration, experience utilizing programs and strategies that increase student achievement preferred. Student Support Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Student Support Specialist will provide support in a wide range of student and safety support processes. This position will be responsible for implementing and assisting with behavior support plans, developing intervention strategies, and monitoring student progress. The Student Support Specialist will provide support to students who are having behavioral dysregulation – assessing the situation, meeting with the student(s) and developing and monitoring plans. The position is responsible for providing consultation to school personnel regarding student needs, staff and student safety, and assisting with behavioral interventions. The student support specialist will meet with students individually and in groups to address behavior.

ABOUT VILLAGE RANCH:

Village Ranch Alternative Program (VRAP) is located in Cokato, MN and is an educational facility on the grounds of the Village Ranch, Inc. Residential facility. The educational program provides a flexible and safe environment in which students can experience educational success. VRAP serves boys ages 12 – 18 some of whom have pre-identified disabilities. Enrollment is made up of boys primarily living in the Village Ranch residence.
