Under the direction of the Director of Business and Finance, the Director of Food and Nutrition Services is responsible for administering and overseeing the operation and staff of the food service department. Duties include the development of food preparation standards, service, menu planning and nutritional values consistent with state and federal requirements, district policies and procedures; oversees and monitors food preparation, safety and sanitation standards; coordinates the preparation of food service and production records; monitors input into budgeting and controls department revenues and expenditures, and trains staff. Through a Shared Services or Catering Agreement, the Director of Food and Nutrition Services will be responsible for administering and overseeing the operation of the food service department for New London-Spicer, Montevideo and Community Christian Schools in addition to other duties outlined herein.

Position Summary:
The Worthington School District 518 is seeking a Multilingual Learner Coordinator. This position will also provide leadership in the EL area. This position resides within the Department of Teaching and Learning, which serves the district grades K-12.
Position Requirements: Must hold a valid Minnesota Teaching License.
Minimum of five (5) years classroom teaching experience.
Graduate work in an education related field preferred but not required.
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with others including teachers, administrators, and other district employees.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Have a solid understanding of “best educational practices”.
Ability to facilitate groups of people working towards a common goal.
Demonstrated expertise in strategies for differentiating classroom instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

Position Responsibilities: Assist teachers in the development and implementation of goals and action plans that incorporate best practices in teaching and learning as well as differentiated instructional strategies related to EL.
Share research based strategies and instructional approaches with teachers in appropriate content areas.
Model and demonstrate effective instructional strategies for teachers.
Provide pedagogical support for classroom teachers.
Remain current with educational research and participate in staff development relative to current research in the field to deepen understanding of effective practices in instruction.
Plan, coordinate, and deliver staff development focused on increasing academic achievement of second language learners, with both EL and non-EL teachers.
Plan and lead small and large group meetings for EL staff.
Serve as the American Indian Education Committee coordinator, Homeless liaison, and Immigrant coordinator.
Serve as a team member within the Department of Teaching and Learning and carry out departmental responsibilities (attend office meetings, submit newsletter articles, etc.)
Perform other non-administrative duties as assigned.
Attendance is an essential function of this position.
This position reports to the Director of Instruction.
