Essential Functions:

Deliver specialized instruction; implement lesson plans on instructional units; develop and determine methods, approaches and instructional units; maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Assess and evaluate student performance against lesson plans; determine the need for re-instruction or need for new approach; reinforce information previously taught in the classroom; determine grades for reporting purposes; monitor student performance and behaviors and determine how to approach bad behaviors.

Develop and plan instructional activities; develop and implement lesson plans personalized for individual student needs; assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs); implement student assessments and evaluate results; determine assessment process for instructional units; research topics and materials designed to improve instructional presentations.

Prepare for substitute teachers; communicate with parents and participate in parent/student conferences; participate and prepare for peer evaluation process.

Supervise students during the school day according to the established building schedule; provide indirect supervision during regular school days.

Collaborate with staff in evaluating individual student issues and approaches to instructional units; evaluate new teaching technologies and/or procedures.

Participate in meetings (building staff meetings, departmental meetings, grade level meetings, staff development, open house/orientation) as necessary or required; attend professional development activities.

Superintendent/High School Principal

Superintendent/High School Principal — Rothsay Public School

Rothsay Public School is seeking a combination superintendent and high school principal with a start date of July 1, 2024.  Rothsay School has an approximate enrollment of 350 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve.  The Rothsay Board of Education seeks a superintendent who will serve the students of Rothsay School by being visible, acting in an ethical manner, working cooperatively with staff and students, being good with people, and able to lead a high-achieving staff and student body.

 

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required.

 

SALARY/CONTRACT:  A compensation and benefits package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.

School Psychologist

Performs difficult professional work conducting psycho-educational and behavioral scientific based interventions, preparing reports and communicating with Teachers, students and staff; coordinating educational and behavioral scientific interventions, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Director of Special Education.

Essential Functions:
Conduct psycho-educational evaluations to include testing, interpretation and report writing; attend and participate in parent/student/school staff meetings; consult and collaborate with Teachers and staff when necessary.
Provide staff development training; participate in District level meetings for system change and development.

Recommend scientific research interventions tied to student needs; assist with coordinating collection of data for at-risk students – screening, diagnostic, progress monitoring; recommend interventions and instructional support to develop academic skills; research current educational topics, trends and due process.

Education and Experience:

Licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota as a School Psychologist.

American Indian Education Advisor

The American Indian Education Advisor will be responsible along with the Indian Education liaison of ensuring the Indian Education plan is implemented.  The American Indian Education Advisor will also work with the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee.

Job Duties:

-Provide academic support to American Indian students

-Act as a resource to teachers and staff for incorporating inclusive practices and American Indian content standards in K-12 classrooms

-Coordinate culturally appropriate training and identify resources and content materials appropriate for staff

-Encourage parents to be active in both Indian education meetings and events

-Develop relationships and work cooperatively with a team member with school district staff to support students academic performance, achievement, attendance and/or behavior

-Seeks solutions to attendance and academic performance roadblocks

-Work collaboratively with the AIPAC, Indian Education Liaison and Assistant Superintendent-Teaching & Learning

-Other duties as relevant to the Indian Education Plan

 

Qualifications:

-Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent

-Good written and verbal communication skills

-Ability to work closely with parents, staff, administration and community

-Knowledge of American Indian culture and language

 

Pay:

-Rate $30-$40 per hour dependent on qualifications

-Paid as a consultant

-This position does not qualify for benefits
