Deliver classroom instruction; implement lesson plans on instructional units; develop and determine methods, approaches and instructional units; maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Assess and evaluate student performance against lesson plans; determine the need for re-instruction or need for new approach; reinforce information previously taught in the classroom; determine grades for reporting purposes; monitor student performance and behaviors and determine how to approach bad behaviors.

Develop and plan instructional activities; develop and implement lesson plans personalized for individual student needs; assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs); implement student assessments and evaluate results; determine assessment process for instructional units; research topics and materials designed to improve instructional presentations.

Prepare for substitute teachers; communicate with parents and participate in parent/student conferences; participate and prepare for peer evaluation process.

Supervise students during the school day according to the established building schedule; provide indirect supervision during regular school days.

Collaborate with staff in evaluating individual student issues and approaches to instructional units; evaluate new teaching technologies and/or procedures.

Participate in meetings (building staff meetings, departmental meetings, grade level meetings, staff development, open house/orientation) as necessary or required; attend professional development activities.

School Nurse

PT School Nurse

60-80 hours per month; not to exceed 720 hours over duration of school year

Performs difficult professional work managing and coordinating health services for Pre-K through 12th grade students and students at the Transition Center, overseeing immunization status of home school children, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Licensed School Nurse and the Director of Student Support Services.

Essential Functions

Provide oversight to 10 locations and health paraprofessionals; train and delegate health related services to health paras and staff; consult and support Community Education staff as needed.
Identify health care needs of students and provide services based on those needs; collaborate with parents, school staff, administration and outside agencies to provide care; assist with IEPs and 504 plans.
Administer health screening to students; provide training for staff and monitor for communicable diseases; provide health related classes; ensure compliance with health care procedures and protocols.
Review and update health office forms; develop health care plans and emergency plans; pull reports and contact families for immunization compliance.
Prepare and maintain up-to-date cumulative health records; review student visits to Health Office; complete local and state reports as required; oversee ordering and inventory of first aid and health supplies and equipment; assist in developing and implementing reports for health services in Synergy; provide annual report to Supervisor and School Board.
Administer emergency first aid for injuries and illnesses; notify parents of injuries or illnesses; supervise health paraprofessionals in the administration of medication.
Remain current on Minnesota statutes relating to health issues and immunizations; work with volunteers to assist with screenings; contact local agencies to provide support and donations for health services; observe data privacy regulations; organize professional training for staff and CPR/First Aid courses.
Support non-pubic schools and homeschool families.
Provides coverage for health offices across the district as needed.
Performs Early Childhood Screening upon request.
Education and Experience

Registered Nurse or related field and minimal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Learning Resource Teacher

The Learning Resource Teacher delivers scripted PRESS reading interventions to small groups of identified students in grades K-5.  The position is funded through an ADSIS Grant.  Work hours are five hours a day for 150 days out the school year.  Job duties include:

delivering various prescriptive reading interventions in small groups
teaching classwide interventions when the data warrants.
scheduling small groups of students, and adjusting schedules as the data dictates
collaborating with other interventionists
progress monitoring
communicating with parents and teachers
attending Stakeholder meetings
