TOSA / Digital Learning Coach

The Richfield Public School District is now accepting applications for a full time TOSA / Digital Learning Coach beginning July 1, 2018. The Digital Learning Coach will work to increase teacher competence and confidence in the delivery of curriculum that is rich in digital media and instructional technology. This specialist will work directly with staff to effectively use digital devices to access and interact with digital content to promote enhanced learning opportunities. The position will support the integration of the full-range of technology resources available to students and staff such as Chromebooks, GSuite for Edu, interactive whiteboards, computers, digital content, digital textbooks, podcasts, video, simulations, web resources, and other applications. The Digital Learning Coach needs to not only have a good understanding and familiarity with educational technology, and technology integration, but also show expertise in curriculum and assessment design and delivery. In addition, the coordinator will assist in the implementation of student standards in digital and media literacy, and supporting all teachers in acquiring the skills to communicate with students and parents effectively via digital resources. Note: The TOSA position will require a flexed calendar of 5-10 summer work days that will be flex off days during the school year. These days will mostly fall in mid-August.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2018, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline: until filled.

Special Education – Alternative Education Program/Self Contained Middle School Teacher

The Green Bay Public School District is accepting applications for a special education teaching position in the middle school program at Dr. Rosa Minoka Hill School. The teacher chosen for this position must demonstrate a commitment to working with at-risk students with multiple learning levels. The candidate must have the ability to differentiate curriculum and instructional techniques and have a disposition to manage crisis and be flexible and willing to change plans quickly. The teacher must collaborate closely with all related service providers, both in district and out of the district, as well as monitor, assess, and adjust the program needs throughout the school year. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to work with challenging youth. The major mission for staff is to keep students engaged and in attendance.

The right candidate for this position will be able to apply their working knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as special education criteria, serve as a case manager on annual IEPs, three-year evaluations, etc. in collaboration with home school to ensure legal compliance. By attending weekly collaborative team meetings of alternative education programs to ensure IDEA compliance, communicate ideas for classroom management, assist with the management of student behavior and learning needs, and share information, the teacher for this position will ensure students with disabilities are college, career, and/or community ready.
