Essential Functions:   The Elementary School Principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of the school, planning and directing the instructional programs by ensuring the curriculum, technology, instruction, strategies and assessment of student progress are coherent components in the teaching and learning process, administering school buildings and grounds operations, participating in staff, student and community activities, organizing, directing, evaluating and supervising assigned certified and classified staff, and related work as apparent or assigned. This position with the Faribault Public Schools commences on July 1, 2026.

In addition they assist with the following duties:

  • Provide leadership in the development of the learning program; communicate with teachers to assure instructional programs are meeting the needs of the students and district.
  • Provide leadership in the development of the organizational pattern, curriculum and instructional program located at the school site.
  • Creates and maintains the health, safety and welfare of students, staff and parents; administers discipline in accordance with district policies within building and grounds.
  • Support, facilitate and provide opportunities for research based practices to support teaching and learning that align with AVID strategies.
  • Provide supervision and conduct evaluation of school district employees assigned to the school site.
  • Participate and contribute to district level administration; serves as a communication link between site and district
  • Supervise student assessment, placement, behavior and attendance.
  • Plan and direct the business operation of the site.
  • In cooperation with teachers, formulate and maintain a staff development plan that addresses the needs of the school site.
  • Facilitate parent, student and/or staff advisory groups.
  • Facilitate communication between school and home to promote parent involvement in the educational programs.
  • Facilitate external relationship building by developing programming that addresses specific and unique needs of local students.
  • Attend all regular board meetings to represent the building and grounds for the district.
  • Oversee the Elementary Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program at Lincoln Elementary.

Business Manager

Position Purpose

Under the general Supervision of the Superintendent of Schools, to manage the Business Services functions of the district  including budget and finance, purchasing, transportation, food services, safety and risk management, and related areas. This position is considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Primary Responsibilities

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise the fiscal operations of the school district using standard accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures in accordance with Board polices, rules and regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the financial position of the school district in order to ensure that the school district is able to maintain its operations and remain within fiscal year budgets.
  • Assist the Superintendent in preparing annual budget requests for school district operations to maintain and improve educational opportunities and all necessary support and operations.
    Prepare monthly operating statements, quarterly reports, and other information or documents as requested.
  • Secure an annual audit of the school district’s finances.
  • Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and reporting for all financial records as required by law.
  • Oversee all school district purchasing, banking activities, payroll and employee benefits programs.
  • Establish, monitor and manage all safety and risk management policies, procedures and practices for the purpose of ensure a safe environment for employees and students in their use of school facilities and transportation, and to comply with legal requirements (e.g., OSHA and Workers’ Compensation).
  • Maintain appropriate levels of insurance to protect school district property and potential liabilities.
  • Works with contracted transportation company for annual reporting.
  • Works with Food Service Director for monthly and annual reporting of the food service operation.
  • Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
  • Assist the Superintendent in making recommendations regarding salaries and benefits for all school district employees.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits and the payroll function.
  • Represent the school district as necessary in off-site meetings, associations, etc.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent.

    Qualifications

The successful candidate must have earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance from an accredited college or university, with preferred qualification of advanced degree in administration, school business management experience and/or staff supervisory experience, preferably in a government setting.

Salary and Benefits

The starting pay for this position is between $102,404 – $128,005 and is based on individual business manager contract.  Your initial placement is dependent on your qualifications (education and years of relevant experience).

Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher provides home-based services to children ages birth to two with developmental delays and/or disabilities, as identified through the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. The ECSE Teacher develops and implements individualized, evidence-based instructional plans designed to meet the unique needs of each child and family. This role involves collaborating closely with families to enhance developmental outcomes, interpreting progress, and providing guidance to parents/guardians on strengths, growth areas, and strategies to support continued development.

Key responsibilities include conducting Part C and Part B evaluations, facilitating IFSP and IEP meetings, and ensuring compliance with state and federal due process requirements. The ECSE Teacher maintains accurate and timely documentation, monitors student progress, and actively supports families in understanding and accessing available resources.

QUALFICATIONS

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education
  • Current State of Minnesota Teacher License in Early Child Special Education
  • Valid Minnesota’ Driver’s License

PREFERRED

  • Experience in teaching children (0 – 5 years of age) with disabilities preferred

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Primary duties include creating and coordinating projects and tasks related to electronic, print, and verbal multilingual communication between Osseo Area Schools and its stakeholders; advocating on behalf of multilingual scholars and families; and liaising and collaborating with district and community resources to develop and manage comprehensive scholar and family outreach and engagement activities.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholder groups including scholars, families, community organizations, and district staff.
Serve as a main contact for multilingual parents and scholars; assist scholars and families in overcoming barriers to access and engagement; orient new multilingual scholars and families to the district and our schools.
Assist site administrators in providing a climate that supports and welcomes multilingual scholars and families to Osseo Area Schools; make recommendations to administrators on creating environments that are safe, welcoming, and inclusive for multilingual scholars, families, and community members.
Plan, develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive multilingual communication and engagement activities that are timely, meaningful, and relevant in coordination with school and district administrators, including the Family and Community Engagement and School/Community Relations teams.
Provide school and district-level interpreting and translating services so multilingual scholars, families, and staff receive and understand oral and written communication in their preferred language; attend parent-teacher conferences to assist with communication between staff and families.
Create and implement content updates for district and school websites and social media channels.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, human services teams, and other school staff to identify and connect with students who need additional academic and/or social/emotional support.
Work directly with individuals or groups of multilingual scholars and families to address specific needs.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to establish learning partnerships through youth and parent programming.
Help scholars and families engage their cultural and linguistic capital to experience schooling in a transformative way.
Advocate on behalf of multilingual scholars and families; surface issues and concerns to appropriate resources for consideration and resolution when necessary.
Facilitate meetings between scholars, families, and school staff who are from diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds to aid home/school communication and assist in the resolution of misunderstandings and conflicts due to cultural differences and language barriers.
Serve as a resource to which multilingual families and community members may come to receive or request information about Osseo Area Schools.
Liaise and collaborate with school and district staff and community resources to identify and provide appropriate services for scholars and families that transform their schooling experience for equitable results.
Provide potential connections to resources for scholars and families as needed, including being a link between the school and community resources.
Identify and interface with local community resources and agencies that work closely with multilingual, immigrant, and refugee communities.
Develop relationships between Osseo Area Schools and community resources.
Build connections with communities and assist scholars and families with accessing and participating in district programs, committees, and activities.

Minimum Qualifications Include:

2 years of college plus three to five years of relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree
Must be fluent in English and Ukrainian.  Additional proficiency in Russian is preferred.
Level of proficiency required: able to read, write, and speak all styles and forms of the language fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs. Proficiency level must be equivalent to that of a native professional.
Experience with interpreting and translating, preferably in an educational setting
Experience working with populations of various racial, cultural, economic, and linguistic backgrounds
Experience working with youth and families in various racial, cultural, economic, and linguistic settings

Preferred Qualifications include:

Effective oral and written communication skills; skilled with Microsoft Office/Google Drive applications, including word processing and email
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse individuals and groups in a variety of settings
Ability to generate enthusiasm and motivate youth and adults
Effective organizational skills and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously; adaptability and flexibility to meet extenuating circumstances and evolving needs

Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and School Board

Job Summary

To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing administrative support and assistance to the Superintendent and School Board.

 

The Administrative Assistant supports the School Board by preparing for Board meetings (agendas, supporting documents), completing meeting minutes and providing secretarial and administrative support in the preparation of correspondence, reports, graphs, charts, and other materials.  The Administrative Assistant drafts and keep track of department expenditures and budget balances; provide assistance and support in departmental projects such as coordinating and managing Board elections, researching laws, arranging for conferences, committee meetings, special events or receptions; and ensuring that information about the School Board and Superintendent, as appropriate, is published in district print and electronic media. The Administrative Assistant supports the district’s General Counsel in all aspects of maintenance, review, revision and publishing of district policies and procedures. This position requires an elite level of confidentiality and professional diplomacy.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Support the Superintendent and School Board as the lead person to plan for all school board meetings including all logistics, development of processes to successfully convene meetings (in person and remotely), and publishing print materials. (60%)

Attend regular School Board meetings and work session meetings, complete meeting minutes, publish board meeting minutes in accordance with MN state law; attend other School Board meetings upon request.
Prepare the board meeting calendar, secure facility permits and arrange logistics for School Board meetings.
Assist the Superintendent in the preparation of Board meeting agenda items, including required reports and presentations.
Assist the General Counsel with all aspects of the Board’s policy work, including preparation for policy committee meetings, management of the electronic files of all policies, and facilitating the update of policies and procedures on the district website based on action taken on said policies by Board action.
Build board meeting agendas using the designated document management tool to publish agendas and supporting documents prior to meetings.
Collaborate with administrators to assure all supporting documents are assembled and provided for meetings.
Ensure Board meeting schedules and materials are accessible by members of the public through print and web-based options.
Follow up on any required Board administrative actions and respond to Board member requests for additional information or specific requests for support.
Ensure that School Board meetings are video-or audio-recorded, according to established guidelines.
Assist with communication to School Board members; arrange logistics for attendance at professional conferences.

Performs support functions for the Superintendent’s office. (20%)

Interact with staff, students, and members of the community on behalf of the Superintendent and School Board.
Collaborate with and provide back-up assistance to staff within the Superintendent’s Office.
Create and maintain various databases, documents, files and records for the Superintendent.
Screen calls and walk-ins and handle a variety of questions, issues or concerns to assist the Superintendent and School Board members.
Determines when it is appropriate to address concerns and questions and when issues should be submitted directly to the Superintendent, School Board members, or other staff.

Serves as the budget manager for the Superintendent, School Board, and election budgets. Includes miscellaneous office support. (10%)

Prepare and submit annual budgets; monitor accounts.
Approve payment of recurring/contracted accounts.
Submit line item transfers as appropriate.
Review past and proposed budgets to develop budgetary recommendations.

Plan, organize and implement school district bond, levy and School Board elections in accordance with MN election laws, rules and training. (10%)

Maintain current Election Clerk Certification training through Hennepin County Election Administration.
Administer School Board general and special elections in accordance with MN election law.
For general school board member elections, administer and file completed Affidavit of Candidacy forms with Hennepin County.
Ensure compliance with election-related requirements, including voter notification, legal notice publications, and other actions required by law.
Ensure, in collaboration with the School/Community Relations Director, that election information is included in district communications.
For special school board elections, hire, schedule and train election judges to staff polling locations, arrange for leasing and testing of voting equipment as required by law.
For special school board elections, order and assemble supplies and arrange for distribution and collection of materials for polling places.
Tabulate election results, prepare abstracts for the Board canvassing meeting following the election.
Publish election results in accordance with MN election law.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or other equivalent.
Five (5) years of experience in the area of executive administrative support.
The selected candidate is required to attain certifications as a public notary and election clerk within one month of hire.Note: the district will work with the selected candidate to attain these certifications if the individual does not already have them.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a K-12 school district environment.
Essential Knowledge

Fundamentals of general office and general administrative procedures and operational requirements.
School Board policies and district administrative procedures.
Laws, rules, regulations and guidelines pertaining to school elections, data privacy or other rules pertaining to the work.
Office equipment and typical productivity software, databases or applications used within the district and their use.
School administration functions, district organization, and services provided by school districts.
Fundamentals of office organization, records retention and records management principles and practices.

Essential Skills

Customer service and interpersonal skills in assisting internal and external customers with concerns and requests for information.
Supervisory skills (e.g., overseeing election judges).
Word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheet creation and use of presentational graphic programs or other office productivity software; familiarity with web content management systems.
Coordinating, prioritizing and leading the administrative support activities, and secretarial activities and responsibilities within an office.
Applying basic math skills in adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, calculating percentages, ratios, averages or percentiles.
Organizing; making arrangements for and carrying out departmental projects; coordinating events and activities.
Performing work assignments requiring attention to detail, precision and accuracy.
Performing all assigned functions with minimal direction in accordance with established management, departmental operations, and work methods.
