School Social Worker

Case manager/contact person for Special Education students with EBD and/or ASD emphasis; provides goal setting intervention, problem solving, and support experience for students; provides identification, screening and referral services of youth with potential handicapping conditions, receives and processes referrals within school as well as from outside agencies; assists in evaluation, development, coordination and implementation of individual education plans. Provides in-service to staff and parents regarding special education services and needs of students. Coordinates services and/or implements consistent program between school, home and community. Functions as a group facilitator for counseling groups; provides consultation to regular education teachers and administrators concerning their interaction with Special Education students; teams with other members of multidisciplinary staff for consultation and planning; provides a part of assessment component for mainstream students referred for special education services as well as reassessment and program planning; performs other related duties as assigned.
