School Psychologist

Benton-Stearns Education District is located in Central MN and serves six member districts including: Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, ROCORI, Sauk Rapids-Rice and Sartell-St. Stephen.  The position exists to support schools in their effort to proactively intervene with students through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and to conduct educational evaluations. School Psychologists support students’ learning, social development, and mental and behavioral health using problem solving, assessment, data-based decision-making, and the delivery of evidenced-based interventions.

Our school psychologists are an integral part of site level teams.  Ongoing collaboration with school staff, special education supervisors, and members of our school psychology team are a critical part of your role.

Special Education Supervisor

Benton-Stearns Education District serves six member districts in central MN, including Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, ROCORI, Sauk Rapids-Rice, and Sartell-St. Stephen. BSED supports our member district with 2 Setting IV facilities and provides educational services at the Grafton Residential Facility located in Cold Spring, MN.

The Special Education Supervisor will be a member of the BSED Leadership team and will report to the Executive Director. Additional duties may be assigned outside of the primary assignment including program monitoring, staff development, and member district support in areas of expertise.

The Sherburne Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative is seeking an enthusastic individual to oversee the three member district special education cooperative.  The SNWSEC services Becker, Big Lake and Monticello Public Schools.  Full job description attached.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the implementation of educational programs for students with disabilities across a three school district Special Education Cooperative, assuring that each student is provided a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment
  • Oversight of compliance with state and federal special education laws
  • Responds to issues related to parent(s) concerns with special education identification, services, or programming
  • Provides leadership for Minnesota Department of Education Monitoring and Compliance process and Fiscal Monitoring process
  • Serves as the DAC the Sherburne Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative
  • Prepares and monitors the annual budget for the Sherburne Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative
  • Oversees the implementation for the Third Party Billing process for each member district of the Special Education Cooperative
  • Recruits, hires, evaluates and supervises certified and non-certified special education staff
  • Provides support and guidance to the Assistant Directors of Special Education and Special Education Coordinators to strengthen leadership roles
  • Oversees Nurses/Health Services for the cooperative and member districts

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology end-user support services or district level administration – required

Position Summary:
The Director of Finance directs the District financial accounting system; supervises the payroll system; delegates the collection and disbursement of District funds and cash management system; prepares and/or supervises the preparation of required local, State and Federal financial reports; assists with the compilation and coordination of the District budget; and assists with other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Executive Director of Finance and Business Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Directs and oversees the implementation and integrity of internal controls and operations for the financial accounting and financial management, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, and/or standards; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; coordinating activities between multiple service areas; and, working to integrate and coordinate service areas.
  • Facilitates and manages the development of the District’s annual budget and short and long-range projections, which includes: gathering and coordinating data; analyzing data; projecting revenues; formatting accumulated data into formal budget documents; presenting budget data and changes to the Board for approval; monitoring the overall budget on a regular basis; preparing reports; and, performing other related activities.
  • Reviews, interprets, analyzes, and prepares a variety of financial/accounting statements, information, data, and reports; makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Serves as a liaison with employees and external organizations; represents the District at a variety of meetings, training sessions, on committees, and or other related events.
  • Directs the implementation of a variety of non-routine, complex projects related to financial operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. Master’s degree, CPA, School Finance Experience desired.

  • Designing and implementing finance, budgeting, accounting and record keeping systems;
  • Conducting complex research, preparing related reports, and presenting findings;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
