2nd Shift Custodian Floater

Job Summary: Perform tasks and duties associated with the maintenance and care of district facilities, equipment and grounds.

Responsibilities and tasks include: 

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to include dust mopping classroom and hallway floors, stripping and sealing resilient and hard surface floors, washing windows, walls, lockers.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas of the building with Back Pack, upright or space vacuums.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms. Empty trash and recycle bins.
  • Maintain district grounds to include mowing grass, removal of debris and snow from walkways and parking lots, laying sod, etc.
  • Sets up and takes down equipment, e.g., tables, chairs, band shell, etc.
  • Watches for vandalism behavior or unauthorized individuals in building.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by appropriate supervisors

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Education – High school graduate or equivalent.
  • License – MN Special Boiler License within 3 years of hire.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include: 

  •  General mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to twist, bend, squat, work above head or shoulders and lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Human Relations: Helping and taking instructions.
  • Exposure to a formal work environment.

 Work schedule: 8 hours/day; 5 days/week

2nd Shift Custodian Lead Person

Job summary: Perform tasks and duties associated with the maintenance and care of district facilities, equipment and grounds.  Additional emphasis is placed on the communication of work allocation directives.

Responsibilities and tasks include: 

  • Relay work allocation directives issued by the Building operations Supervisor (BOS), and building principal to second and third shift custodial personnel.
  • Assist building head by maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and order supplies as necessary.
  • Act as evening contact for community education use of facilities; assist in facilitating public needs.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to include dust mopping classroom and hallway floors, stripping and sealing resilient and hard surface floors, washing windows, walls, lockers.  Vacuum all carpeted areas of the building with Back Pack, upright or space vacuums.
  • Perform carpentry, mechanical and plumbing repairs, e.g., ballasts, light switch receptacle fixture repairs, flush valves, faucets, cleaning equipment repair, light carpentry, ceiling and floor tile repair, carpet repair.
  • Maintain district grounds to include mowing grass, removal of debris and snow from walkways and parking lots, etc.
  • Check boiler to ensure appropriate operation, e.g., pressure/water gauges.  Assist with boiler repairs as needed.
  • Make fuel switchovers as directed.
  • Respond to questions regarding facility usage, watches for vandalism behavior or unauthorized individuals in building.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by appropriate supervisors.

Minimum qualifications include: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Second class boilers license upon hire.
  • Plant maintenance or related field course work helpful.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include: 

  • Ability to care for and repair facilities and equipment.
  • Demonstrable leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Good communication skills:  verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain records.
  • Human Relations:  Helping, taking instructions and exchanging information.

Preferred qualifications include: 

  • Work experience in maintenance area.
  • Some supervisory experience desirable.

Elementary Building Engineer

Job summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Conduct and supervise the program for care and maintenance of the school buildings, site and equipment.  Major emphasis will include both custodial and mechanical works as well as supervisory responsibilities.

  • Ability to train, evaluate and direct personnel
  • Ability to work with principal and building staff
  • Ability to meet and respond effectively to student, staff and parent needs

Minimum qualification include:     

  • EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent
  • LICENSE: MN 1st Class C Boiler’s License upon hiring.

Preferred qualifications include: 

This building has advanced energy efficient building controls including an energy management system and direct digital controls; systems are hot water boilers.  Candidates should have the ability to learn computerized controlling systems and develop an understanding of direct digital controls.  HVAC training or experienced preferred.

Associate Principal

Administers school student personnel program in junior or senior high school and counsels and disciplines students by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school; disciplines according to District and state policies and laws; interprets same to staff, students, and parents.
