Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Technology provides leadership and vision for developing and sustaining technology services that are in alignment with the District’s purpose and priorities and ensures equity and access for all individuals in the District. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operations of the (IT) Technology Department. Responsible for innovative and integrated use of technology-based solutions throughout the organization.

The selected candidate will have the following essential skills:

  • Service orientated leadership of diverse district teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed orientation with an ability to plan and prepare.
  • Strong understanding of technology integration for instructional and business services purposes.
  • Understanding of logistics.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Keen knowledge of information security

  • Education and Experience:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis or major in Business, Education, Information Systems or Equivalent – required, Master’s degree – preferred
  • MN Teaching and Administrative licensure – preferred
  • Teaching experience and/or experience in education setting – preferred
  • CETL Certification – Consortium of School Networking Certified Education Technology Leader Certification – preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology end-user support services or district level administration – required
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience – required
  • Experience using and managing a team & related technical functions – required

Position Summary:
The Director of Finance directs the District financial accounting system; supervises the payroll system; delegates the collection and disbursement of District funds and cash management system; prepares and/or supervises the preparation of required local, State and Federal financial reports; assists with the compilation and coordination of the District budget; and assists with other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Executive Director of Finance and Business Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Directs and oversees the implementation and integrity of internal controls and operations for the financial accounting and financial management, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, and/or standards; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; coordinating activities between multiple service areas; and, working to integrate and coordinate service areas.
  • Facilitates and manages the development of the District’s annual budget and short and long-range projections, which includes: gathering and coordinating data; analyzing data; projecting revenues; formatting accumulated data into formal budget documents; presenting budget data and changes to the Board for approval; monitoring the overall budget on a regular basis; preparing reports; and, performing other related activities.
  • Reviews, interprets, analyzes, and prepares a variety of financial/accounting statements, information, data, and reports; makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Serves as a liaison with employees and external organizations; represents the District at a variety of meetings, training sessions, on committees, and or other related events.
  • Directs the implementation of a variety of non-routine, complex projects related to financial operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. Master’s degree, CPA, School Finance Experience desired.

  • Advanced financial analysis principles and methods;
  • Auditing principles and practices;
  • Applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) principles.

  • Using computers and related software applications;
  • Interpreting and applying applicable Federal, State, and/or Local laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines;
  • Evaluating complex financial systems and efficiently formulating and implementing accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records;
  • Preparing, analyzing, and interpreting complex financial statements, reports, and analyses;
  • Developing and enforcing finance and accounting procedures and principles;
  • Designing and implementing finance, budgeting, accounting and record keeping systems;
  • Conducting complex research, preparing related reports, and presenting findings;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

The MACCRAY School District (Maynard, Clara City, and Raymond) is looking for a 1.0 FTE Elementary Music Teacher for the 2022-23 school year, beginning July 1, 2022.  For the ‘22-23 school year, we are proud to be opening a newly-built, one-campus facility, all located in Clara City, near the intersection of MN Hwy 7 and MN Hwy 23.  This $40M project combined both elementary schools as an addition to our remodeled and expanded high school.  We are also excited to add a new Performing Arts Center, expanded CTE classrooms, a new fitness center on-site, and a designated middle school area.

 

MACCRAY is located in the heart of the prairie in West-Central Minnesota, located approximately 16 miles West of Willmar and about 90 miles West of the Twin Cities. Whether you like to golf, hunt, fish, snowmobile, or enjoy nice restaurants and shopping, you can do all of these activities either in or within 30 minutes of our three communities.

 

The ideal candidate will hold a valid MN Vocal Music teaching license.

 

Position qualifications include holding a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.  A MN teaching license, or the ability to obtain a license, is also required.
