Implement Preschool (3-4 year olds), Pre-K (4-5 year olds) classes to include delivery and design of lessons that align with the curriculum and assessment practices of the Early Childhood & Family Education program.
Teaching practices align with a multiple tiered support system with the goal to develop school readiness skills.
Teach as a home visitor and/or member of a classroom team to possibly include the following: a parent educator, Educational Support Professional (ESP) and possibly Early Childhood Special Education staff,
Provide leadership and work direction for ESP.
Maintain consistent communication with parents and work with them in the development of their child.
Maintain attractive and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Attend and contribute to program staff meetings and training.
Implement Early Childhood Developmental Screening.
Support outreach efforts.

Labor Relations Specialist

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by performing administrative support and assistance to the Human Resources Assistant Superintendent and Director.  The responsibilities include scheduling, preparing for, and attending meetings, recording minutes, summarizing research, costing/metrics, preparing contract revisions, correspondence, and other document preparation and maintenance.

Provides administrative support in the coordination and preparation for negotiations and related meetings – 60%.
Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/responsibility:

  • Primary Role: Records and takes minutes of all meetings, edit and distribute minutes to appropriate parties, maintain meeting minutes in both network and virtual files.
  • Prepares agendas, schedules meetings on calendars, including dates, times and locations for meetings.
  • Assists in the preparation of meeting agenda items, including required reports and collection of data.
  • Creates and maintains committee mailing lists, databases or other associated records.
  • Coordinates invitation and facilitation for external meeting participants/presenters.
  • Collaborates with administrators to assure all supporting documents are assembled and provided for meetings.
  • Follows up on any required action items, prompts and responds to team member requests for additional information or specific requests for support.

Compiles information for use in negotiations and labor relations, 20%.
Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/responsibility:

  • Researches questions and issues in State laws, MSBA manuals, web sites or historical data to assist in preparing reports, summaries or other information to assist in the labor relations/negotiations process.
  • Gather and collect comprehensive knowledge base of federal employee and labor relations theories, principles and practices to build information library.
  • Research current market, best practices, and theory for interpretation and application of labor contracts.
  • Conduct comparative studies regarding various aspects of labor agreements.

Perform cost analysis and generate metrics, 10%.
Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain employee group cost analysis documents.
  • Generate employee metrics, including attrition rates, time to hire, attendance, staff demographics, etc.
  • Create and distribute stakeholder surveys.

Document preparation and maintenance, 10%.

  • Draft contract revisions and submit final draft for publication.
  • Generate correspondence including announcements, letters, invitations, etc.
  • Assemble and compile all committee member materials.
  • Integrate all final negotiations documents and notes into a master file.

  • Maintain and update all virtual shared files with stakeholder groups.

  • Customer service and human relation skills in assisting, screening, handling and dealing with informational requests of both district staff and the public.
  • Word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheet creation and use of presentational, graphic programs or other office productivity software.
  • Communication skills in dealing with all levels of staff, public, representatives of other organizations, or others appropriately both in writing and verbal interactions.
  • Organizing, making arrangements for and carrying out events and activities with minimal direction in accordance with established management, departmental operations, and work methods.
  • Performing work assignments requiring attention to detail, precision and accuracy, while meeting established deadlines.
  • Performing assigned functions with minimal direction in accordance with established management, departmental operations, and work methods.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge and skills in short-hand for note taking in meetings is preferred or willingness to train.

Educational Requirements:

  • 2 year college with major field of study in Business Management, Human Resources Administration, or Industrial Relations
  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience in the area of administrative support experience that includes some experience in support of labor relations and collective bargaining negotiations.
