The White Bear Lake Area Schools, in collaboration with the Mahtomedi School District and the H2O for Life Nonprofit Organization, is now accepting applications for a full time Race 2 Reduce STEM Coordinator beginning the 2016-17 school year. Posting dates: 08/05/2016 to 08/15/2016 or until filled 2016-2017 School Year Snail Lake Education Center TOSA – Instructional Coach – Indian Education .50 FTE Qualifications Licensed in secondary education in the state of MN Knowledge of American Indian Culture Preferred Experience in providing culturally relevant instruction English Language Arts License Experience in leading professional development Experience in preparing students for college readiness Responsibilities Support for Instruction- work with teachers and schools to help them become more familiar with the best ways for American Indian students to learn, through professional development and development of relationships. College Readiness – work with American Indian students on college planning steps, personal awareness and academic preparedness. Continue to pursue personal professional growth through attendance at workshops, conferences, courses, and current relevant readings. Work with principals and building leadership teams to monitor the progress of American Indian students and support adjustment to programs to increase effectiveness. Assist PLCs and individual teachers with interpreting student data, using it to inform instruction, as well as designing and implementing culturally relevant and engaging curriculum and materials. Coordinate student data collection with Curriculum and Instruction to summarize student results. Collaborate with elementary literacy and math coaches to address the needs of American Indian students. Facilitate college field trips and assist with financial aid and tribal enrollment processes. Facilitate intercultural events that develop awareness among students, parents and staff.

Food Service Worker II
Description: Food Service Worker II at High School. 6.5 hours/day, student days. Job Summary: 1.Prepare kitchen for daily tasks Turn on all equipment, take out necessary food and supplies. Follow daily plan as determined by the supervisor. 2.Assist with food preparation Bake food items and prepare onsite food as needed per menu. Prepare all other food needed for the day. Unload food delivered from another kitchen or help put food away, if needed, on delivery day. Take temperatures of food items to ensure it meets HACCP standards. 3.Assist with food presentation Assist in setting up the serving line, serve food to students and staff in a professional manner, and serve food at appropriate temperatures. 4.Cashier As needed for breakfast and lunch. 5.Provide assistance to staff as needed train new cook helpers and assistant cooks on daily duties, assist FSW I if needed, fill in for head cook in their absence. 6.Store and dispose of unused food Cover and store food items in proper locations and at proper temperatures according to HACCP procedures. Dispose out dated food as directed by the head cook. 7.Assist with clean up and cleaning of the kitchen Clean freezers, refrigerators, storage area; sanitize all food prep areas and equipment daily. 8.Close down kitchen at end of day when necessary. 9. Fill in as head cook when head cook is out. 10. Other duties as assigned.
