The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking an Institution Educational Supervisor at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing. This position provides academic leadership, management, evaluation, and administration for the achievement of successful teaching and learning through faculty and support staff; participates in academic and other DOC statewide meetings; collaborates with department-wide education supervisors and the Central Office education administration to plan and develop new program initiatives as well as redesign existing course curriculum. This position also examines and implements policies and procedures to enhance effective and efficient administration. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: *Supervise and coordinate all academic, career technical, higher education, and life skills education programs in accordance with establishing administrative philosophy to insure adequate, updated, pertinent options are available for and will meet the individual education needs of the residents. *Ensure students are being guided in developing academic, career, personal, and social potential through counseling classroom guidance. *Exercise supervisory authority to administer personnel practices, directives, and instructions in the management of human resources so that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered and employees perform assigned job duties to achieve the goals of the education department. Collaborate with human resources to ensure hiring processes are followed. *Provide effective leadership and management of education programs to ensure quality of educational programs while meeting or exceeding standards. *Efficiently develop, manage, allocate, and monitor budget processes. *Develop the use of technology to more effectively deliver a wider variety of curriculum to a wider base of the student population than is possible through standard techniques. This position requires travel approximately 15% of the time and has direct contact with offenders.

Elementary Literacy Tutors work one-on-one with K-3rd grade children who need help learning to read.
