PYP Coordinator

The PYP Coordinator is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where staff and students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing the International Baccalaureate (IB) program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with school mission, vision, as well as the IB program mission and standards. Responsibilities: Coordinate curriculum and instruction for grades in K-5 and coordinate and attend all planning meetings for K-5. Coordinate IB Program for K-5 and classroom coach, mentor, and modeling for IB K-5. Coordinate IB star tickets for K-8 for both students and staff. Coordinate curriculum mapping, scope and sequence, lesson plans, IB units align to standards. Coordinate summer school for grades K-8. Assist with classroom formal and informal observation and evaluations. Review lesson plans and provide feedback weekly for K-5. Oversee inventory of all classroom level books, curriculum and ordering for K-8. Conduct all fieldtrips to make sure it is aligned to lesson in the classroom for K-5. Provide training and support on various topics such as reader’s and writer’s workshops, math’s workshop, Big 5, Think Aloud, IB, Responsive Classroom, etc. Coordinate, train, and conduct meetings for EAs/Tutors. Ensure that copies of IB publications pertaining to the PYP section of the school are available to all staff members. Coordinate the exhibition event to include the following: communication with staff for facilities set up, work with communications manager to send out school wide and community invitations; and create and communicate the event schedule. Attend and monitor the exhibition event. Work with marketing director to ensure the use of digital documentation of the event. Coordinate to make sure all contents are aligned to MN Standards requirement K-5. Supervise staff PD resource library. Provide classroom management training and support K-8. Coordinate Early Kindergarten Assessment with the Community and Family Liaison Manager. Attend Executive Team meetings as needed. Administrative Assistant and Attendance Liaison

This person is responsible for the smooth and efficient operations of Memorial Hall functions and management. Provide administrative assistance to administrators, office and school staff and students by answering/screening phone calls, coordinating meetings and events, handling confidential information, receiving and responding to inquiries and requests, managing crisis situations, managing the attendance of students and family inquiries, and other duties as needed.
