Description: AVID tutors travel between Shakopee West Junior High School, Shakopee East Junior High School and the Shakopee High School. AVID tutors assist students during the small group tutorial sessions held in the AVID elective classes during the school day. For this particular AVID tutor position, the work hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm. This position will work with member districts and families for intake and referral procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: *Provide overall direction of the program personnel and students for daily operations in the absence of the manager. *Provide supervision, evaluation and support to staff. *Complete suspension paperwork and contact and notify necessary authorities for incidents resulting in suspension and/or expulsions. *Create, coordinate and maintain master schedule of classrooms, courses and groups for the year. *Assist manager with budget preparation and staffing. *Act as the primary liaison between own school, other schools, students and families for credit, graduation, behavioral or other needs. *Maintain student credit evaluation records and transcripts, certify students for completion of graduation credit and testing requirements for home high schools and own school. *Conduct meetings and provide training to a variety of staff specific to the functions of the program. *Perform other duties as assigned.
