DUTIES:
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, translation services for Spanish speaking
families, liaison with Somali-speaking families, supervision of students indoors and/or out of
doors, support students under the direct supervision of a teacher.

Paid Work Hours: 6.5 hrs/day
Days/Year (includes 7 holidays): 179

QUALIFICATIONS:
– High School Diploma required.
– Bi-lingual speaker; fluent in speaking and interpreting Somali and English for
interpreting services
– Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.

WAGES: $18.37/hour, other benefits according to the Paraprofessional Contract.

7:15 AM – 3:15 PM                       183 days

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must be a licensed teacher with the State of Minnesota. 9 – 12 ELA license preferred.
-Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
-Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
-Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
-Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
-Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Consistent with the current Teachers’ Master Agreement.

Special Education Paraprofessional – LTS

Hours:  12:00pm-3:30pm Wednesday’s, from September 6 – December 14, 2022 (LTS)

This position is part-time and based out of OH Anderson Elementary, 3-5 building.  Salary and benefits are part of the Para Master Agreement.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be Highly Qualified.  Two year degree preferred.  Previous experience working with elementary students in an educational setting preferred.

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing an educational environment that will help students with disabilities in learning and fulfill their growth potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of assigned students with disabilities through formal and informal assessments
  • Ability to handle confrontational situations with students and use good judgement with student restraint if necessary
  • Assist with lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on a regular basis on student progress
  • Ability to follow directions easily
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
