Qualifications: High school diploma, knowledge in using computer technology to keep records, and excellent human relations, and oral and written communication skills.

Pay and Benefits: Starting rate $19.98/hour, Benefits based on the pay and benefits guide.

Duty Days: 181 duty days, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (8 hours/day) includes 7 paid holidays

Job Summary:

  • The Assessment Lead will assist with the coordination of the administration of local, state, and national tests under the supervision and general direction of the Director of Data & Accountability.

Child Care Program Assistant Float

The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking applicants to join our Childcare team as a Float Childcare Assistant. The  Childcare Assistant is responsible for assisting in the daily care and instruction of students ages 6 weeks – 4 years old or our elementary school-aged students. Work is performed under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Program Site Lead. Work is performed under the direction of the Childcare Programs Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

· Delivers age-appropriate curriculum in a developmentally and academically appropriate program that meets the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of the students.

· Provide supervision to students at all times; serving as a positive role model. Assist children with meals and feeding.

· Provide diaper changes and assist children with potty training. Keep daily records and logs of student activities.

· Follow daily schedules including napping and sleep schedules. Observes, evaluates, and report the children’s developmental progress, health, and well-being:  assures the classrooms promote learning in a safe environment for the children.

· Delivers classroom and recreational services: assists with attendance, work assignments, clerical duties, behavior management, and classroom preparation and set up.

· Assists in creating a nurturing, educational and recreational experience where children are encouraged to develop social skills, independence, and confidence.

· Maintain a positive atmosphere of caring for all staff and children, provide constant supervision and monitor the safety of children.

· Participate in play and curriculum activities with children.

· Attend meetings and training sessions as required

· Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

· Knowledge of student learning styles and motivating children to engage in learning.

· Knowledge of school and district rules, regulations, and procedures

· Strong communication and listening skills

· Good judgment and decision making

· Ability to relate to, establish and maintain effective working relationships with people (staff, students, parents, and the general community) of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.

· Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, set priorities, and work independently.

· Strong analytical and technical skills required to support decision-making.

· Skilled in the supervision of students, strong communication skills, and strong technology skills.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working in a licensed child care facility with diverse populations and urban/ suburban school settings preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Assistant Teacher qualified under DHS Rule 3.

Community Engagement- Clerical

The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking a Community Engagement- Clerical professional to join our Team!  The Community Engagement- Clerical position is responsible for performing intermediate administrative work providing support to the Community Engagement department in such areas as community education, youth programs, and community engagement. Performs skilled administrative support work preparing and maintaining registration platforms, attendance records and files, preparing reports and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Community Engagement Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list is representative of but is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work on the specified days and hours. Factors such as regular attendance are not routinely listed in job descriptions but are an essential function. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Provides clerical support for the community engagement department.

· Collects and manages district out-of-school time and summer program registrations, data entry and manages information in student information systems.

· Communicates with parents to gather additional information and maintains student contact information.

· Monitors and tracks student program attendance and student membership hours.

· Assists in auditing/reconciling the out-of-school time databases, including targeted services and 21st Century.

· Collects student data as necessary for reports and compliance purposes.

· Processes, prints and distributes various program rosters, reports and lists.

· Manages program supplies, inventory and equipment.

· Responds to the needs of families and students in person and over the phone.

· Assists in planning and coordinating district community engagement events.

· Maintains program schedules and completes facilities requests.

· Creates announcements, letters, memos, reports, bulletins, requisitions, student files, etc.

· In collaboration with the Director, maintains and updates community partner’s directory.

· Communicates Community Education/Community Schools’ philosophy and programs to all stakeholders.

· Assist in the district enrollment process during peak periods.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

· HS Diploma or GED

· Moderate experience working in a school district or administrative office

· General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment

· General knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic

· General knowledge of school system routine, banking procedures, and financial record keeping

· General knowledge of basic first aid practices

Duty Days: 12 month, Full-time
