POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for improvement in student achievement and staff effectiveness through data analysis and program evaluation. Working closely with the Director of Teaching and Learning, the incumbent will develop a comprehensive analysis of the multiple measures used to evaluate student achievement and success in developing the skills students need to thrive once they graduate. Emphasis will include training for school and program staff and other educational partners in data-based decision-making, including interpretation of achievement and other data to assist in practitioner self-evaluation and identifying student needs as well as meeting the purposes of school accountability and district accountability. Developing and maintaining contact with representatives of the Minnesota Department of Education and overseeing the coordination of district-wide assessment processes. This position will oversee the implementation and evaluation of programs and strategies to determine effectiveness and facilitating continuous improvement through systematically developing processes to enhance the success of the strategic plan. In addition, this position will evaluate the perceptions of stakeholders throughout the system to fully realize our goals in the area of equity and eliminate of any systematic barriers for all students to succeed.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research
- Conduct research and evaluation of educational programs, issues and trends as requested.
- Direct the development of research designs, implementation of studies and the reporting of results.
Data Management
- Collect, analyze, interpret and summarize data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
- Identify achievement gaps within the district, schools and student subgroups.
- Provide leadership and technical support for district-wide assessments in reading, writing and math.
- Collaborate with Special Education, English Language, and Gifted Education staff relating to all assessments.
- Oversee Schoology.
Program Evaluation
- Provide support for schools and departments in designing and planning models for program implementation and evaluation models for monitoring success.
- Collaborate with Teaching and Learning Department regarding formative and summative assessments and implementation of curriculum strategies and programing.
- Establish and foster partnerships with organizations beyond our district.
- Develop and monitor the World’s Best Workforce requirements.
- Oversight of the use and implementation of the Qualtrics software program.
Assessment
- Maintain knowledge about all current assessment trends and strategies.
- Develop in-service training for district staff relating to the testing process and develop training schedules taking into consideration the needs of schools.
- Determine timing and schedule for all assessments within the school district.
- Meet with school administrators, test coordinators, and other school and district staff to provide testing information.
- Oversight of district progress monitoring and reporting system and collaboration with student information systems for implementation.
- Monitor student and school performance to identify trends.
Continuous Improvement
- Actively collaborate to facilitate the implementation and monitoring of the district strategic plan.
- Participate and support the facilitation of the districts approach to innovation and enhancing the work that we do with both students and staff.
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
