School Psychologist (Long-Term Substitute)

The Human Resources Department is accepting online applications for the position of School Psychologist (long term substitute) at our High School.  This position is available immediately through the end of the 2021-22 school year.  We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.  Salary placement is based on education and experience as indicated in Teachers’ Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Job Summary
Lead the implementation of a school-wide multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model consistent with the district framework to ensure: high quality instruction and preventative interventions, assessment practices are applied across all levels of the system for a deeper understanding of each student’s needs and alignment of resources and supports necessary for each student’s academic and social-emotional success.

Conduct special education evaluations, including problem identification, assessment selection and administration, result interpretation and team eligibility decisions, and documentation according to state and federal requirements and relevant ethical guidelines. Provide support, assistance and consultation to teachers in addressing assessment needs of students who may have a disability. Provide intellectual, behavioral and occasional academic assessments. Participate in IEP meetings and facilitate communication between staff and families as necessary.

Job Functions

Conduct special education evaluations, including problem identification, assessment selection and administration, result interpretation and team eligibility decisions, and documentation according to state and federal requirements and relevant ethical guidelines
Support delivery of some special education services as specified in Individual Education Plans, by conducting individual or group intervention and consulting with general and special education colleagues
Coordinate SRT (Student Response Team/), including scheduling, record keeping, permissions, and data management,
Coordinate and implement Tier I (general education via consultation) and Tier II interventions for individual or groups of students, including appropriate assessment and progress monitoring
Analyze assessment and intervention data and develop data-based decision-making protocols across tiers of service delivery
Assist with staff training and supervision of staff providing tiered services and interventions
Assist in selection, administration, and/or interpretation of assessments (e.g., Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment data, universal screening data, etc.) to inform instruction or fulfill other school needs
Conduct analyses or research as needed to support decision-making, evaluate effectiveness of programs or interventions, etc.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance
Other duties as assigned

Paraeducator – Program Assistant

The Adventure Connection (AC) Program Assistant position is a great opportunity to help manage a before and after school program for elementary school students.   Working under the guidance of the Inclusion Facilitator, the AC Program Assistant is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of an Adventure Connection Site. The AC Program Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that program participants have a supportive, interactive, and enriching program experience while ensuring the safety and security of all program participants.  This position will also specialize in creating an environment that minimizes and positively resolves behavior issues for students in the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing a diversified program to include art, science, service learning, recreational activities and more.
  • Responsible for maintaining the safety of all participants involved in the program.
    Be the lead inclusion staff person to deal with significant behavior issues and help resolve conflicts in a positive manner.
  • Have a strong expertise in a wide variety of techniques and strategies for working with students with behavioral and developmental challenges.
  • Attend multiple trainings each year designed to strengthen behavior management and relationship building skills when working with children.
  • Work with students with special needs and their families to ensure that individualized plans are in place to allow every child to be successful in Adventure Connection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Valid State of Minnesota License in EL
Position Purpose:  To support EL students in their mainstream and homeroom classes.  Provide language instruction to student who speak languages other than English. Spanish speaker preferred.

2021-22 Reading Temporary Teacher, 0.33 FTE, Dates: ASAP-1/24/22

2021-22 ELL/ESL Temporary Teacher, 1.0 FTE (MS & Elem) Dates: 12/1/21-6/13/22

Arabic Teacher – Relocate to Saudi Arabia

Minimum Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities:
SAES teachers work collaboratively to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate daily classroom instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, teachers are responsible for nurturing positive professional relationships and for working collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues to optimize the educational experience for the entire learning community. Classroom teachers perform under the supervision of school principals and in frequent partnership with other educators, paraprofessionals, and parent volunteers.

Collaboratively plan and implement rigorous, meaningful, developmentally appropriate classroom instruction and interventions aligned to SAES curriculum.
