The Adventure Connection (AC) Program Assistant position is a great opportunity to help manage a before and after school program for elementary school students. Working under the guidance of the Inclusion Facilitator, the AC Program Assistant is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of an Adventure Connection Site. The AC Program Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that program participants have a supportive, interactive, and enriching program experience while ensuring the safety and security of all program participants. This position will also specialize in creating an environment that minimizes and positively resolves behavior issues for students in the program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing a diversified program to include art, science, service learning, recreational activities and more.
- Responsible for maintaining the safety of all participants involved in the program.
Be the lead inclusion staff person to deal with significant behavior issues and help resolve conflicts in a positive manner. - Have a strong expertise in a wide variety of techniques and strategies for working with students with behavioral and developmental challenges.
- Attend multiple trainings each year designed to strengthen behavior management and relationship building skills when working with children.
- Work with students with special needs and their families to ensure that individualized plans are in place to allow every child to be successful in Adventure Connection.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
