The Director of Community Education and Activities will manage and coordinate school district Community Education programs including childcare, enrichment, P-12 athletics and activities, and district facility management.  The Director of Community Education and Activities will manage the Community Education and activities budgets and resources to best meet the needs of the Central Public Schools community.

Central Public Schools is a public school district that serves the communities of Hamburg, Norwood Young America and Cologne.  Situated right on Highway 212, Central Public Schools is just 20 minutes from the 494/694 loop and is one of the fastest growing areas in Carver County.  Central Public Schools serves 915 students and the district supports two buildings.  In 2019, the communities supported an operational and technology levy, passing it at 66% approval.  The district is in the process of completing a new Strategic Plan and branding initiative.

Special Education Finance Specialist

Executive Director of Teaching and Learning

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

➢ Serve as a member of senior leadership of the school district.

➢ Direct, supervise, support, and evaluate Director of Technology, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Student Services, curriculum team and support staff.

➢ Observe and evaluate district programs by visiting district schools, meeting with staff and families, consulting with other school districts and educational organizations, and collecting and disaggregating data as it relates to educational programing, curriculum, instruction, professional development, and student achievement.

➢ With the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, provide oversight of budgets related to curriculum, instruction, testing, Title, AVID, PLTW and EL programs.

➢ Oversee programming including, but not limited to, Instructional Reviews and Standards Alignment, Professional Development, Testing, Homebound Instruction, Home School, English Learners (EL), Gifted Services, New Teacher Orientation and Mentoring, Title Programming, AVID, and Q-Comp.

➢ Oversee resident and non-resident enrollments and work collaboratively with senior leadership on budgeting and staffing related to enrollments.

➢ Coordinate professional development for principals and assistant principals, including hosting monthly Pre-Cabinet meetings to discuss matters of importance related to teaching and learning.

➢ Ensure compliance with rules/regulations related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, enrollment, and related reporting.

➢ Assist in establishing connections and fostering relationships within the community.

➢ Recommend policies, regulations, and administrative procedures.

➢ Ensures compliance of state and federal laws, regulations and reports.

➢ Serve on the Executive Cabinet, participate in Executive Cabinet meetings and attend School Board meetings as a resource to the School Board.

➢ Work cooperatively with other Directors and Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSA) in the coordination of efforts resulting in a unified program for the school district.

➢ Provide leadership to the Systems Accountability Committee, including scheduling meetings and setting the agendas.

➢ Along with the Superintendent, Teaching and Learning staff and principals, ensure compliance with the district’s Equity Commitment and corresponding priorities to support equity and access initiatives.

➢ Reports class sizes and projects student enrollment annually to the Superintendent and the School Board. ➢ Assumes such tasks and assumes responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.

Sports Arena Maintenance Supervisor

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Operate and maintain all ice maintenance equipment including ice resurfacer and ice edger.
Maintain ice surface to high standards.
Recommend repairs or replacement of facility fixtures.
Maintain clean and safe facilities, perform general outside maintenance of facility.
Assist in training new employees in areas of ice maintenance, pro-shop duties, nightly shift duties, and safety practices.
Supervise the evening operations of the Sports Arena including high school games, tournaments, cleanup, and concession staff in Managers absence.
Assign general cleaning and repair tasks for part-time personnel.
Assist in managing event ticketing and concession operations in Managers absence.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels for custodial supplies.
Operate and maintain skate sharpening equipment.
Insure compliance with Minnesota Department of Health concerning air quality including:  certifications, permits, and inspections.

Analyze and evaluate arena procedures to determine effectiveness, suggest needs for improvement or change.
Support and enforce facility policies, procedures, and safety rules.
Assist in any other duties as assigned by the Arena Manager

WORK ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS:

A.    Working Conditions:

Indoors, 55-70 degrees, sweatshirt or light coat typically needed, wet areas and floors common, slippery conditions on ice surface.

B.  Physicals Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.  Walking, kneeling, and bending over is required.  Some sitting down for office work is also required.

C.  Work Hours and Schedules:

Work hours are typically 9 AM – 5 PM.  Some evening and weekend shifts will be required during events.
