Job Summary: 

Incumbents are responsible for assisting Principals/Program Managers in the overall administration of the school or department; assisting in supervising all instructional and support staff members; and developing, implementing and managing assigned school programs.
 

Typical Class Responsibilities:

  • Conducts performance evaluations of teachers, support providers, and other staff as assigned; conducts pre and post-conference meetings; conducts observations; writes evaluations; and helps staff with ongoing support and advice.
  • Provides recommendations to Principals/Managers in developing, planning, and administering District programs and curriculum; and works closely with teachers and staff to identify academic and classroom needs to consider in the development of programs, curriculum, and support services.
  • Provides recommendations to Principals/Managers in regards to planning and administering comprehensive student behavioral and discipline programs, ensuring consistency in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, working closely with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Provides academic and social support to students in areas that may include: participating and providing input during Individualized Education Plan meetings; providing oversight for Due Process; assisting students and overseeing staff in crises; and helping to identify supportive steps and responses for students with social and emotional challenges.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings, which may include: District meetings, parent or guardian conferences, special education briefings, staff and/or committee meetings, staff development sessions, and/or other related meetings.
  • Performs related functions, which may include: ensuring staff coverage across programs; assisting in the planning of staff development activities; preparing agendas, correspondence, and reports; responding to inquiries; developing and implementing school schedules; and performing related duties.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Training and Experience Requirements: 

Master’s degree in Educational Administration

Licensure Requirements: 

Licensed or the ability to obtain a license as a Director of Special Education issued from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the following areas: leading and developing staff in equity work, restorative practices, and trauma informed practices; MTSS framework pertaining to academic and behavioral supports; and building and maintaining a healthy and positive school culture amongst staff and students.

  • Lead and/or supervisory principles and practices;

Special Education Profile: 

Special Education programs and services in Northeast Metro 916 are central to the Intermediate District’s mission and fully integrated in its structure and decision-making processes. Programs provide special education and related service support to students from early childhood through age 21 with emotional/behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, developmental and cognitive disabilities, deaf and hard of hearing disabilities, and learning disabilities.

Accountant, PK-12 Operations

Description:   To inspire and prepare all students with confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing accounting support and direction to the Division of Leadership, Teaching and Learning.  The PK-12 Operations Accountant  is responsible for organizing and coordinating the financial management of DLTL with an emphasis on providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing financial data; preparing reports; and performing key technical accounting tasks.

Job Summary:  The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:

Implement annual budget process and fiscal management activities.Asssist with developing and monitoring annual budget.

Documents financial transactions by entering account information.

Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, and other reports.

Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

Preparation of financial analyses through research and data analysis.Provide Assistant Superintendents, DLTL Directors and Operations Coordinators accurate information outlining the financial standing of respective departments.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Responsible for the proper coding for state and federal revenue.  Verify compliance with Uniform Financial Accounting Reporting Standards (UFARS) changes.Review revenue and expenditure account codes monthly to ensure compliance.

Code state and federal revenue and expenditure account codes according to established guidelines.
Support position control data management and resource allocation processes.

Assist with coordination of the accounting process for all special funded projects and categorical aid. Assist with the preparation of reports and claims on special funded projects. Reconciliation of Electronic Data Reporting System (EDRS) and UFARS on a monthly basis.
Manages grants received by the division.

Assist DLTL leaders with technical accounting tasks.Coordinates SERVS applications and budget submissions to Minnesota Department Education (MDE).

Verify correctness of accounting period transactions on a monthly basis.

Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations

Completing other duties as assigned byMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Performing other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Qualifications:  College graduate with major in accounting, business administration or related field

Required Work Experience: Three years of proven success in accounting with an emphasis in budgeting and financial analyses.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Extensive skills in accounting and related fields.
Ability to maintain the general accounting function.
Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
Working knowledge of governmental accounting preferred.

LTS ECFE Preschool Educator
