Salary: $17/hr, $18.25/hr (retiree)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Putting students at the center of what we do through the implementation of the following high Accountability standards: Food Preparation and Equipment

Menu/InventoryAssists in preparing and serving all programs offered at site;
Assist in serving quality meals on time every day regardless of challenges with food, equipment or staffing;

Workforce Development and Recruitment/Retention Coordinator (Manager)

This position is responsible for system-wide workforce development and retention of staff. The position has oversight of Osseo Area Schools’ recruitment and retention strategies and programs with the goal of building and sustaining a diverse and competent workforce that is student-centered, equity and accountability focused, and customer service driven.

 Responsibilities and duties include:

 Develops, implements and manages district-wide recruitment strategies and programs.

  • Oversees and administers recruitment programs including the New Teacher Workshop week and Grow Your Own programs.
  • Implements creative recruiting tactics designed to generate high interest in social media and media-based web recruiting.
  • Analyzes workforce availability, demographics, sourcing and trends to forecast and develop effective recruitment approaches to attract a diverse candidate pool reflective of the students and communities served by the district. Strategies include, but are not limited to, job fairs, open houses, attendance at school events, community events and educational institutions.

Develops, implements and manages retention strategies district-wide and programs for staff of color.

  • In collaboration with partners, manages staff of color retention programs including the Teacher of Color Mentorship program.
  • Analyzes disaggregated data and recommends and implements changes to programs, specifically regarding underrepresented groups.
  • Identifies skill gaps and executes strategies to close gaps that exist between the current workforce and what is needed in the future.

Utilizes data and administers grants to develop workforce strategies.

  • Serves as the grant manager for district recruitment and retention programs. Utilizes data and grant funding to develop and implement workforce strategies.
  • Guides lead mentors for the Teachers of Color and ESP mentor retention programs. Ensures grant-funded positions have written assignments designed to carry out the deliverables of each grant.
  • Manages department resources effectively, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, rules, and regulations.

 Supervises and develops recruitment and retention staff.

  • Supervises direct reports by delivering formative and timely feedback, written performance evaluations and/or demonstrating attention to quality enhancement by improving efficiencies and effectiveness in recordkeeping, workflow and compliance.
  • Leads and influences the work of colleagues requiring the ability to build good relationships. Delegates tasks and authority appropriately and/or establishes procedures to guide system and departmental work; monitors and demonstrates effective decision-making strategies in order to meet project deadlines.

Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and models professionalism.

  • Expresses ideas clearly verbally and in writing and communicates effectively in public. Listens attentively and builds relationships.
  • Perceives the needs and concerns of others and provides appropriate support, resolves conflicts, and demonstrates cultural responsiveness.
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor by maintaining confidentiality, representing the district in a positive manner, and establishing a positive image with the district’s sites and community.

Performs other comparable duties, as assigned by the Director of Human Resources. 
 
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

  •  The ability to interact effectively with people of diverse educational, cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong skills and background in leveraging social media as a sourcing and recruitment tool.
  • Computer proficiency with databases, windows-based applications, Microsoft Office and social media.
    Strong consultative skills, including the ability to engage, assess, persuade, and negotiate with prospects.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, communications, or other related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recruiting experience with increasing responsibility for an organization.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of lead and/or supervisory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations, compensation practices and other human resources related functions including benefits, compensation, employee relations and organizational development.
  • Experience leading recruitment and retention functions for an organization with over 500 employees.
  • Previous grant administration experience.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR or similar credentials.

Salary: Classification J-1, $101,464 – $114,811 annually
Work schedule: Full-time, 260/261 workdays/year

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Processing, reviewing, verifying and correcting employee demographic, assignment, benefits and compensation, or other information to ensure employee record accuracy.
Referring to applicable terms and conditions of employment contracts; if needed, contacts other departments, administrators, supervisors, etc., regarding employee record discrepancies.
Building employee profiles in the HRMS system.
Processing employee data transactions including but not limited to hiring, separation, assignment, salary schedule placement, benefits enrollment/changes, etc.
Processes benefits paperwork including enrollment, changes and stopping of benefits with insurance carriers and in the HR/Payroll system(s)
Assisting with compilation of data and workflow administration.
Reviewing source document for complete and appropriate information
Proofing, auditing and verifying data entry of all employee data and information prior to periodic batch events, including but not limited to payroll generation, contract implementation, employee records fiscal year transition, salary schedule advancement, etc.
Reviewing, monitoring and verifying all corrections are made and entered into the HRMS system in conjunction with Payroll Department to ensure employees are accurately compensated per the current terms and conditions of employment contracts.
Reviewing data entered to assure consistent with data in source document.
Notifying associated departments of any necessary changes to data.
Reviewing employee data for consistency with terms and conditions of bargaining agreement.
Assisting with implementing system updates and conversions.
Responding to questions, forms or calls from other organizations, vendors, state agencies (PERA, TRA, etc.) requesting information on subjects including but not limited to employment verification, unemployment eligibility, licensure verification, survey submissions, etc.
Retrieving requested information and completing appropriate forms.
Assuring timely delivery of requested information.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
One year or more years experience as a data entry clerk, or similar experience required
