School Age Care Lead

Under the direction of the SAC Program Coordinator, the Program Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring the daily activities of staff and children in the before and after school program for children 5-12 yrs. to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment. This is a year-round position.

Pay and Benefits: Per the Community Education Paraprofessional Contract  $21.54/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and implements daily activities and plans that are fun and educational. Activities include subject areas in art, music, drama, cooking, math and science.
a) Interacts with children and assists in supervising activities. Monitors children activities in room, gym and playground.
b) Takes attendance and maintains student records.
c) Provides and leads a variety of enrichment and recreational choices and activities.
d) Models and teaches appropriate behaviors.
e) Monitors and provides for a safe and secure environment for the children.

• Coordinates, organizes, monitors and leads program staff and students to conduct daily activities of the program.
a) Monitors, assigns and coordinates staff activities and functions.
b) Provides on-site training and orientation to new staff.
c) Provides input and feedback to Coordinator concerning staff performance issues and concerns.
d) Provides assistance to staff and students in daily concerns, problems and/or issues.

• Completes, updates and maintains site records, files, activity logs, and attendance sheets.

• Communicates with building staff, nursing staff, parents or the program coordinator concerning student issues, and scheduled events.
a) Assists in writing newsletters to inform parents of activities, problems and issues.
b) Meets with parents to communicate and inform them regarding behaviors and observations.
c) Works with department staff to identify developing problems or issues with children or program activities and functions.

• Administers appropriate medications to children as prescribed and consistent with program guidelines. • Assists staff in the set up, cleaning and tear down of the program site.

• Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required. a) Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district and departmental meeting

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Minimum of one year directly related work experience in working with school aged children
First Aid/CPR Certified

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of practices, techniques, and fundamentals of school aged child care programming and services.
Fundamentals of work coordination and delegation.
Fundamentals of child development
Knowledge of relevant laws, rules, regulations or guidelines pertaining to school aged care programs, operations, and safety requirements.
Knowledge of Kid’s Kampus program operational policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
• Skilled in assigning work, leading and coordinating work activities and priorities of site personnel.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Supervising groups of children in accordance with behavioral guidelines and rules to assure an appropriate environment and the safety of participants and staff.
• Planning and implementing site activities in accordance with program themes.
• Updating and preparing site files, records and reports in accordance with department requirements.
• Dealing with children, staff, parents, administrators and building personnel concerning issues and activities. Interactions require the explanation of program operational rules and working with others to gain cooperation and understanding of educational issues/needs.

Implement a variety of service delivery models including home visits, daycare visits, indirect services, and consultation
Consult with parents and other service providers to ensure the effective provision of services
Provide indirect and direct services to individual students on IEPs, per the IEP team recommendations.
Collaborate with parents and other service providers about student needs and progress
Plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student’s progress
Encourage and instruct parents and caregivers in appropriate methods to assist their child
Participate in meetings to include IEP, conferences, in-services, etc. for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student’s goals/outcomes
Prepare documentation (evaluation, observations, progress reports) and maintain records as required and for compliance with district administrative policies, state and federal rules and regulations.
Provide and maintain 3rd party billing documentation for eligible students

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, the Community Liaison enhances student learning by helping students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff to center racial equity and cultural relevancy into student engagement, parent engagement, community engagement, and staff development. Furthermore, to build and maintain supportive relationships that strengthen student and family connections to school and support the elimination of racial disparities, racial isolation, and to achieve equitable student achievement.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Providing an ongoing marketing and promotion plan and public information program aimed at continuously informing internal and external stakeholders about Family and Community Engagement programs and services.
Managing and compiling data regarding Family and Community Engagement outreach activities; developing recommendations for program goals and improvement; assisting in preparation of periodic reports.
Scheduling, planning and conducting meetings with stakeholders for the purpose of coordinating program activities and initiatives.
Identifying and interfacing with local community resources and agencies that work closely with bipoc communities.
Building connections with the diverse communities and assisting families with participation in Family and Community Engagement programs.
Developing relationships between the School District, Family and Community Engagement department, and community resources.
Planning, developing and implementing informational literature, brochures, television, radio, and website information to develop family and community awareness about Family and Community Engagement initiatives.
Maintaining a planned and systematic program of communications and accountability aimed at continuously informing external and internal stakeholders of Family and Community Engagement plans and activities.
Working cooperatively with and collaborating with various community and school agencies, parental and neighborhood groups in the development of Family and Community Engagement outreach initiatives.
Maintain liaison with district, state, and community committees and representatives in the development and implementation of Family and Community Engagement outreach projects and initiatives.
Assist site administrators in providing a climate that supports and welcomes students and families to the School District and helps to raise the awareness level of the district as a whole and Family and Community Engagement services.
Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Include: Bachelor’s degree or 2 year college and 3-5 years related experience.
